Ohhh those are aweful!!! That urge to pee never going away !!!! They sell over the counter stuff now that I've used and along with drinking lots of cranberry juice I got rid of it. Good luck !!! I know they suck !!!! |

Yes I am taking that. It doesnt seem to be helping at all and even making me nausus (sp?) I am sitting on the couch with my legs squished together drinking bottle after bottle of water. I just hate this feeling! |
I'm sorry girl, those are painful. I hope you are on antibiotics. You will see a difference within days! Feel better! |
Oh man those hurt. I used to get them in my twenties, I would literally drink pitchers of water at a time, and they would go away within a few hours. Keep on downing water, it was the only thing that really worked for me. I feel for you, big time........... |
I am so sorry! If the cranberry juice and water isn't working you may need to get on antibiotics if you aren't already. |
I feel so bad for you! I'll say a prayer that it goes away quickly...in the meantime, water and cranberry juice! *Big Hug* Maddie sends get well wishes! |

Oh, I had one last month. It feels like you're peeing razor blades or straight pins. The Dr gave me Cipro and it took awhile for the hurt to go away. Take care. |
Oh dang! Those are so uncomfortable. Since your on antibiotics, just keep drinking the water and if you can get some cranberry juice, drink that too. I'm sorry you're hurting, but it will be gone soon.:) |
I am sorry, those are MISERABLE. Just like everyone else said, drink lots of water. Are you taking antibiotics? Are you taking pyridium? You need those. The pyridium is prescription and is alot better than the over the counter urinary pain medication. A hot bath always helps me too (no bubbles though). Hope you feel better soon. |
omg that sooo sucks!! i have one not too long ago and it would not go away. i tried everything. finally i broke down and called the doc to get some ab's. thankfully he just faxed the prescription over to my pharm so i could get them asap. |
Sorry you are feeling so bad. Hope the medicine kicks in soon. |
OUCH! So sorry....hope you get better soon! I had my first one EVER (EVER) last year - which is weird because I am older (ha)....anyway, the day before we were taking a driving trip, I had to go to the doctor to get antibiotics and the pill that makes your pee bright orange. I also had tons of yogurt and cranberry juice (the real organic kind - that is pretty stout)! There is stuff you can get over the counter? Like medicines?? Can someone tell me what that is? I had bought some cranberry supplements too. It seems that every since I had that infection (it was last summer), I always have the urge to pee, but it was nothing like the infection...I mean, I never had one before, but I KNEW that was what it was! (if that makes sense)!!! YUCK! Sending hugs! |
I get those once in a while, OUCH:( I"m sorry! What works for me is when I feel it coming on, to take the Azo Standard stuff immediately and start hydrating with lots of water and cranberry juice (100% juice, NOT the cocktail). I've nipped a few in the bud like that. That Azo only works if you catch it in the very very beginning. I hope you feel better soon:) |
Awww, so sorry. They are miserable. I used to get them everytime I took an antibiotic until we figured out that the antibiotics were causing them. Now, I just have to take an antifungal along with the ab and no bladder inf. Mine always stopped by my 2nd dose of ab's. I hope you feel better soon. :( |
Kristi I hope you are feeling better today!! |
I do hope you are feeling better today and your meds are starting to work. |
Kristi, how's the meds doing today? |
Thank you so much! Oh you guys are so sweet! I feel better just reading your get well wishes! The antibiotics dont seem to be kicking in yet. I hope today it will get better! My little boy just went to stay with my mother in law for the night.... I just couldnt chase after him. I feel better when I can sit down and squish my legs together and drink my water! Thank you so much for caring about me! I dont know what I would do without you guys, seriously! |

What type of antibiotic are you on? Did you have a urine culture done? There are some types of bacteria that only certain antibiotics will cure. The standard meds many times don't wory effectively at all. If you aren't feeling better by the time you've had 24 hours of antibiotics, call your doctor back. Uristat (over the counter) will help with the pain, but will turn your urine orange and will stain - so pull out the old granny undies!! I've found the nausea is from the infection and pain, not usually the meds. Sometimes an ice pack helps as well (between the legs or on the low abdomen). Hope you feel better soon, Kristi...... |
