Do you have a big bag? What in the world do you carry in that big bag (besides phone & money) ? :D ...I used to carry a large one years ago because I was a "just in case " person....No kidding...I would have things as in: tweezers, band aides, flashlight ruler, wand magnet, aspirin, nail file, straws, magnifying glass, scissors etc. in addition to the usual makeup and a brick.. just kidding, no brick...Wait a minute... I wasn't carrying a purse I was carrying a first aid kit all those years  ....I have dramatically down sized to a very small purse now w/ just a check book and a few papers in it ...not even any makeup any more & I don't even miss the stuff ( well on occasion ). Do you HAVE to carry a lot of stuff or are you a minimalist?:) |
Im for sure a minimalist.I dont have much in my purse but i do have 2 young children so i have bandages, ointment, cough medicine, children tylenol,my wallet,my ipod,my phone and lots of pictures. |
I have all sizes of purses, but I usually put in them my planner, makeup bag, camera, phone, and cigarettes. W/ my larger bags I put Rocky in them :) I actually think I found my new discrete dog carrier, it was in my closet the whole time! |
i carry one that goes over my shoulder, gotta have that just incase i need to get to someone with my other hand... like a fist... mine is big enought to carry a wallet, a little bit of makeup and a change purse.. and a phone book and some business cards of drs. |
I have a big bag...but it's only because I have a business and I can carry my catalogs with me without wrinkling them that way. In my defense, I never had a big bag until I started selling stuff. lol |
You made me think so I went through it:( . Do I need to carry a crochet hook? The last time I used it was 2 yrs ago, I think. A calendar from 2005. A picture of my boss??????????? |
Gina.. that was so da*mn funny!!! I got such a visual w/ that fist thing..I actually laughed out loud!! Yorkiemom55..Hey don't be so quick to throw that crochet hook.. out that makes a good weapon...you could put an eye out w/ that... you have to carry things that do double duty..saves space :D |
yes i do fear that..... mostly when im shopping... and i do alot of if. if that bag is not over my shoulder i would probably place it down and that would be the end of my life.... my life is in my bad.. plus the fact, really have to have at least one arm or hand free....... the stonger one |
You can always tell if a women has money or not by the way she carries her purse...if she's swinging it around she's probably broke.. nothing in there ....but if that baby is clutched to her side.. that one has the mother load in there:D |
Ok, I'm going through my LARGE purse, and I have: chapstick (several) makeup medications brush change purse w/ debit card and cash wallet w/ checkbook and credit cards and insurance cards calculator (in case I'm somewhere and need to balance my checkbook) keys cell phone lotion Purel (in case I'm somewhere and can't wash my hands) pens Then I have ANOTHER tote that I haul around that has: camera book bottled water first-aid kit that includes face soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash (in case I get stuck somewhere overnight) Ipod Daily planner/Calendar notepad I did used to have all of these things in ONE HUGE purse, or bag, but figured if I was just running to the store I didn't need all that stuff. So I split it into two "bags." hahaha |
its not the money im worried about,,, they can take the money,,all of it, just leave everything else there... |

I've always admired those women who have a purse to match their outfits...I have never done that ..it's seems a little silly to try & match sweats :) |
I am envious of girls who can get away with tiny cute purses. I have a couple that have never seen the light of day because I couldn't fit anything in them. :( My wallet alone feels like a brick - and not because it's filled with money! What the heck do I carry in there?! Time for an overhaul I think. I'm guilty of heavy purse syndrome just like the rest of ya! |
I used to carry a big purse but last year I bought a small coach purse and a wallet. I really miss my larger purse, but this coach purse is so cute I can't do away with it. My wallet is so full that I can't even snap it. This weekend I am going to Gatlinburg, TN and I am getting another coach purse but a BIG one this time (not too big though). |

I have to carry a backpack purse because I have problems with my shoulder. I carry my billfold, my (small) calendar, checkbook, a small checkbook like thing for cards, etc, a zip pouch with splenda :D gotta have that for my coffee when I eat breakfast out, my keys, and cellphone. Then I have a zip pocket in the purse with pens, mirror, chapstick, tweezers, and nail clippers. I think that just about does it! I really do use all those things, not sure how I would manage without them! No wonder I have to carry a backpack! It's not really THAT big though! WHEW!!! |
i have a big bag.. i carry all of my belongings, wallet, cellphone, my daughters things like a pacifier, her snacks, extra burp cloths, lol thinking about it.. i carry a lot of stuff.. too much to type lol.. i also carry my husbands stuff too, like his wallet, keys and cellphone, sometimes his watch, i carry lotion with me at all times lol.. |
Rowdysmom...I love those backpack purses (if it's on the small side)!!... I haven't bought one yet because I haven't decided if I'm too old for one of those.lol |

LOL! I won't ever be too old!!! I have carried them for years and will have to carry them forever, and mine are pretty stylish. Here are some pictures of my current one. It is black leather and it was designed by a native Alaskan Indian artist, Dorothy Grant. The closeup of the flap is imprints on the leather of two hands, one going up and one going down along with the Raven symbol. It means that we all have talent and that talent can be released by the raven through our hands. It is quite beautiful. I bought it at the National Museum of the American Indian. You have to search, but you can find pretty and stylish backpack purses. |

I know exactly what your saying.....I was wondering that too.....for me that is..LOL.....its kinda like long hair......is there an age that you are NOT supposed to have long hair?????? My mom told me years ago.....that a woman was NOT supposed to have long hair after 30?? LOL....well, I passed that a while ago......and still have long (ish) hair......I was wondering the other day......if I am having a "mid life crisis?" or NOT.....ha ha ha....  |
