To those who travel internationally.. Have heard about the chip that are now being inserted in passports by the government? Kinda scary!! Supposedly, because its a new thing and not fool-proof, your identity can be stolen if someone (who isn't supposed to) reads the knowledge. Also, it can be done at anytime, so you could be tracked and not even knowing it. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...091500923.html I have a professor who suggested to take a hammer to your passport to disable the chip. :) Makes sense.. although you aren't supposed to tamper with your passport. I wish I had gotten mine renewed before Jan. 1. |
No one here ever travels internationally? lol... |
I only travel to Canada and Mexico - but I did get my passport renewed before the end of 2006, so hopefully, I don't have a "chip" If I did, I think it would be popping in the microwave! :D |
That's what I thought!! But then I read an article that said that it could spark and burst into flames.. and that would be just my luck. :D |
Wow! This is great, just when we thought we had complete freedom... I travel internationally at least once a month... Will be using my hammer very soon! |
