It's all preference. It doesn't make the people who wear fur immoral or somehow less than someone who doesn't. | I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. But, here are a few facts....
-Meat is used for human consumption and the health of humans and other animals. Fur is used simply for fashion - the animal suffers and is killed for fashion.
-Most fur is acquired through trapping. The animal is trapped, generally by a clamp that breaks their leg. They suffer to death - if they do not die, the trapper kills them upon finding them. If they are not trapped by a clamp-type device they are trapped in a cage where they starve to death. Animals used for food do not suffer - they are killed instantly... not skinned alive or left bleeding in a trap for days. You can argue this one, but I know it for a fact as I have met fur trappers before and gew up near cow farms.
I hate to be brutal, but I'm sure you would feel differently on this topic if your pet had been skinned and used for fur just so someone could prance around and "look good." |
