IMPORTANT info about some links posted !! JUST in case, and to prevent us from getting our computers messed up - Watch out for strange links being posted in threads....... Yorkie Talk does a GREAT job monitoring spam - but once in a while they slip by unnoticed. Internet forums are a perfect for this, just like our email is - and we all have problems with spam etc. to some degree. IF YOU SEE a thread by a brand new member with only ONE or two posts to their name advertising links to click on - DO NOT CLICK THE LINKS. from what I read - GOOGLE has implemented new policies to help stop the mass porn sites and other bad sites on the net - but there are lots of bad sites that these JERKS will try to get internet users to visit. The way you can check a link BEFORE YOU GO TO A SITE is to do this Right click onto the link Click Properties Where it says ADDRESS - highlight only the URL PAST that URL into a Google Search That should tell you if it's a bad site or ok - but if you have doubts - just don't do it. I think it's great google is doing this ...it's about time the net was monitored better. |

ps - this does not apply to a new user with photos in an album etc - just strange links that make no sense or are asking you to trade links with them. NO ONE needs to trade links with anyone unless they're a legit business and you both agree up front and especially - don't CLICK the links if the person doesn't seem to be a legit Yorkie Talk member. |

Me again.....I should have also posted if you DO see a questionable link or post - there is a little REPORT/ALERT BUTTON under each member name - you just click the Red & White triangle (under everyone's locations and avatar) of the post you think is spam and it goes straight to admin. They do catch most all of it but just in case....... |
Oh My my!!! I did open the link that you are talking about!!! In the first second I saw it, I was like " why anyone on YT would like me to see this site?" My bad, I didnt look first who posted this tread. I run my virus scan and I have Norton so I should be fine this time. Thank you V for warning!!! Next time I'll know to be more careful. |

Thanks V! Haven't come across one yet, but now I'm forewarned! It's easy on YT to find yourself just blindly trusting everybody...so the reminder is much needed! |
