which song are you talking about? runaway love? |
yeah which song? i have her new cd or maybe her last one i dont know which it has the be without you song on it but i dont know if thats new or if thats the one before. but let me know, i havent been listening to rap much due to it all being soooo dumb. it talks about the same stuff or dumb stuff that we dont care about. |
runnaway love. it's a heartbreaker. just days where I am such a ditz TyTy |
yea i've heard it, i love that song. |
This is my favorite part: Emotions run deep and she thinks she's in love So there's no protection he's using no glove Never thinkin' bout the conceqences of her actions Livin' for today and not tomorrow's satisfaction The days go by and her belly gets big The father bails out he ain't ready for a kid Knowin' her mama would blow it all out of proportion Plus she lives poor so no money for abortion Ericka's stuck up in the world on her own Forced to think that Hell is a place called home Nothin' else to do but get her clothes and pack She says she's bout to run away and never come back |
the song depresses me. It's a really good song, and spreads the word about problems that do affect our youth everyday but tend to get ignored because social workers are so understaffed. but it really just makes sad when I hear it. |
My kids love that song:eek:, they know the words too:eek:. My little 9 year old daughter told me that she likes songs that have a message behind it  and that is why she likes this song:eek:. She said that is very sad for those little girls and then she said "mommy, they are 9 like me":( :(. Very sad song:( |
Have you seen the video? holy smokes, that part i saw was about a dad who abuses his kid and not just physically, i thought it was... well my gut went with inappropriate, but I'm just funny thay way. ;) My daughter, 17, was listening to it on the radio, she had no idea what it was about. I made her listen to the words. |

I love it. Someone who is not afraid to but issues in the limelight that need to be addressed. The performance of the song on the grammy's was beautiful. |

Now little Lisa's only 9 years old She's tryna figure out why the world is so cold While she's all alone and ain't never met her family Mama's always gone and she never met her daddy Part of her is missing and nobody will listen Mama's on drugs gettin' high up in the kitchen Bringin' home men at different hours of the night Startin' with some laughs... usually ending in a fight Sneakin' in her room when her mama's knocked out Tryna have his way and little Lisa says 'ouch' She tries to resist but then all he does is beat her Tries to tell her mom but her mama don't believe her Lisa's stuck up in the world on her own Forced to think that Hell is a place called home Nothin' else to do but get some clothes and pack She says she's bout to run away and never come back |
I don't mind it. Actaully made me proud of my daughter as she sat down and thought about the song,{video really} while her friends laughed and made fun of it. and that made me proud. and I explained to her that all these girls in this song have choices. not just run away. Tell your priest or paster or a teacher or fireman or nurse or even if you do run away go to a teen shelter, there's a safe choice. try to think it thu and make it. TyTy for once modern music is doing something right. |
