Faux Fur? - not so much!!
 
Just saw a chilling report on Good Morning America about "faux fur". According to their report which was supported by undercovery Humane Society folks, the majority of faux fur out there is really Raccoon Dog - a dog that looks like a raccoon. They are raised in China in horrible conditions and literally skinned alive.

The report says that most labels either don't identify the fur at all, or list raccoon rather than raccoon dog. This was on MAJOR labels and desginer labels being sold at high-end and middle department stores. Scarry and totally disgusting, especially when you think you are being ethical!

I heard this yesterday Jodie and was sickened by the knowledge. I thought most of the faux fur here was a synthetic of some kind.

I'm SO glad to see this on the news but this information has been on the net for a long time now - what took the national news so long to catch up ?:( We have quite a few threads right here on YT about the evil fur trade and it can't be said enough - we need to STOP importing fur from China - any kind. If we took away their source of money then maybe so many animals won't be tortured and skinned ALIVE

This needs to be stopped NOW. They found the the fur of Golden Retrievers and domestic house dogs also in their tests - but those poor Racoon dogs are the ones who are slaughtered in massive amounts. They're beaten and skinned ALIVE !!!

If our country wants to do the right thing - they need much tougher laws and need to crack down on ALL 'faux' fur being imported - how hard could it be ??

Man I dont buy real fur but it is bad that you cant even buy faux fur without worrying if there is dog fur on it.

can you believe it ??? JC PENNY had dog fur in their Stores ...It makes me sick when we can have FAKE fur that looks like the real thing - All this torture for what - a FASHION ACCESSORY ?? :( :( :( :(

I know Gina. There is no why. It's freaking people that have to wear FUR and don't GET IT....if people didn't BUY it - then they would stop selling it.

I almost did get sick when I saw that video last year ....there are worse videos than that one out there and I won't even post them. :( :( :( :( :(

This entire situation is appalling, but more so because most people are under the impression the faux fur is synthetic and therefore ethical.

Please view these with caution they are very graphic if they are the ones i seen before they are horrible and they did make me throw up when i watched them i can't ever get those images out of m head if you are squimish don't watch. They show the dogs being beaten and skinned alive i feel sick as i'm typing it is brutal and so graphic what they do to these dogs. This is a sick world we live in and i hope they get theirs someday!:mad:
