Hurt pup. Can you help me figure this out? I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to go about finding a lawyer for dogs. My mother went to pick our dog up from the groomers at Petsmart and he was injured. To make a long story short thay hurt his spine and the vets didn't know if was paralized or not, luckly he can walk now but not for very long and he wobbles. My mother and I need to find someone that can either draw up a contract with Petsmart to take care of this problem for the rest of his life or to get into a court battle with them. We are really trying to avoid court, we really just want them to take care of the problem they caused. So if anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appriciated. |
oh my that poor baby!!! im sorry i have no answers for you, but i will bump this up, hopefully someone else can help you... good luck |
Bump!! OMG how horrible! I am sorry your moms dog was hurt! Hopefully someone can give you advice!! |
You just need to find an attorney that handles Liability Claims, like Auto, slips and falls, gross negligent cases, stuff like that. It does not matter that the injured was a "dog". It has to do with a service provider, being negligent when providing a service. |
http://pview.findlaw.com/view/3582605_1 I did a search I bet if you call they can give you free advice I grew up in the largo area Pinellas Park I sure hop your moms Pup is okay. I would think a civil attorney would work. |

What a tragedy. I do hope your mother's pup will be ok. I don't believe you can trust anyone with your pup anymore. Who would think that by having your pet groomed would do damage to him. The groomers these places hire for the most part are not trained properly or just out of school. Also they just jam them in. Instead of keeping an appointment and doing one dog at a time they wash, stick in crate, start another dog, blow dry the one in crate, take in another dog while one is still standing on the table and start all over again. Instead of taking 1 -2 hrs to groom one dog at a time, your pet is there for 4-5 hrs. Buddy was there for 6hrs one day. Never went back. It's all about making money and not giving good service to the client. Prayer's coming your way for the little one that there is no permenant damage. Carol & Buddy |
I'm sorry that your Mom's dog was hurt:( I hope that they'll do the right thing and take care of his medical needs, poor baby:cry: |
I'm very sorry about your mom's dog. How horrible. :( What has Petsmart said about it? They didn't offer any help? |
They tried to help initially when he got hurt, but their "emergency" credit card had a $200 limit and that doesn't even cover an over night stay let alone the treatments he was given. So my mother had to pay and they said they would refund her but it hasn't happened yet. And the girl that was left by herself to work on the grooming wasn't even fired. |
