sammiz | 02-04-2007 09:55 PM | Wonderful News I found this in my local news tonight: Two puppies born with cleft palates have had their first corrective surgeries and are said to be doing well.
The puppies, named Magic and Merlin, are about three months old. They were taken in by the Little Shelter Animal Adoption Center last year after a worker found them in a New York City shelter, unable to eat and likely to die.
While recuperating from surgery, they're receiving pain medication and are wearing medical collars so they won't scratch their mouths, said veterinarian Priti Karnik. |
