Tis a sad morning..... This morning I went to bring Lilly, our dwarf russian hamster out of her cage and she was sick........she pooped/wet herself and is barely hanging to dear life.........we are so sad :( I know their life expectancy is not very long........we enjoyed her for nearly 3 years though. She was getting slower each day but one could never be prepared. She loved to go into her clear ball and roll all over the house.... I know it sounds silly to some............but I am so heart broken. We are going to go dig a grave under the snow and dirt........ |

I am sorry to hear about your sad news. I hope you spirits lift soon. Take care. |

I am sorry. I, too, cried as I watched my dtr's hamster - L.L. Cool Ham -pass. It took a full day of him gasping for a breath every so often. He was so fat and he was stuck in the door of his house. I didn't want to make him suffer any more by pulling him out (he wasn't stuck tight) so I just let him go on his own, but it was so hard to watch. 3 years is a long, good life for a hamster, so just remember that you gave her a loving home, cared for her, protected her and made her happy. Lilly will grow her own tiny wings now and join L.L. and all the other furry little creatures that have passe before her. ((Hugs)) (Shortly after we lost L.L., our guinea pig - Alfalfa Sprout - also passed. Both were buried under a tree in the back yard). |

I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. I just lost my hamster last week. It's never easy, no matter how small they are. I hope you feel better soon. :( |

I am so sorry, these little ones bring us such joy! |

We all love our pets no matter what they are. I am so sorry you little hampster is on it\'s way to heaven. Pets give us such joy and love and become a family member that when the time comes it\'s so hard to let go. I hope your little one goes swiftly and doe\'s not linger. Carol & Buddy |

Those little ones sure do creep into our hearts. Both of my kids had hamsters and they passed within days of one another. Their life expectancy is 24 months and they lived almost exactly 24 months. We sure did cry when we lost them. I\'m so sorry she\'s not well. Hopefully she\'ll pass soon and not suffer for long. She sure did enjoy a long life with you....three years is exceptional. It helped our kids to have a little service for them. Everyone said a few words and the kids even wrote a little prayer...it was so sad. We buried them in the garden under a flower plant. |
