2 questions...is this for one meal only and...what are you putting on the meatloaf? |
a nice lettuce salad and some dinner buns, maybe some pickles and or cheese? |
oh i forgot the gravy we season the meat and put some tomato sause on top before cooking it comes out really good ! yes this is one meal dinner buns sound good ! |
I just wondered because I make a sauce of ketchup, brown sugar and mustard and put it on the top about 10 or 15 minutes before it's done...then put the rest on the table for everyone to use. It's sweet and tangy. How about some sweet cornbread? It sounds like you have the makings of a good meal there. I wondered if it was for one meal or if they were going to be staying a couple of days because this is perfect chili weather and chili makes great left overs! |

I don't know if you like sweet potatos or not but these are really easy to make and are always a hit! You can eat them as a side or for dessert. Sweet Potato Balls 4 large sweet potatoes 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons orange juice 1 teaspoon orange zest 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg 2 cups shredded coconut, sweetened 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 large marshmallow per potato ball Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake the potatoes until tender, then peel and mash them. Stir in the brown sugar, orange juice, zest and nutmeg. In a separate bowl, toss the coconut with the sugar and cinnamon. Press mashed potatoes around each marshmallow, creating a 2 to 3-inch diameter ball. Roll the balls in the coconut mixture. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Watch carefully for the last few minutes of cooking; the expanding marshmallows can cause the potato balls to burst open. |
those sweet potato balls sound amazing...i just wrote down the recipe and cannot wait to try them!!! hehe |
