Been away but now I'm back... I've been away from YT for about a week now. (I'm going crazy without it.) I finally had an appointment with a gynocologist. He has recommended 1 of 2 surgeries and now I don't know what to do. First is a hystrectomy the other is called Endometrial Ablation and Hysteroscopy. Has anyone had an endometrial ablation and did it work for you? I am so afraid that I'll go with that and it won't work. I really don't want to have major surgery if I can help it. (Hystrectomy is major surg. since I've had 4 c-sections they'll go through my adomen.) Any input on the second choice would be great!!! |
don't know anything about the second, but had the first, and it worked out really well for me. Good luck, it's not an easy decision! |
Maybe this will help: |
Thanks, I will check it out.:) |
ok now listen,,,, i just went to the dr. a week ago cause one jerky dr. told me i needed a hysterectomy too, got a second opinion and the second dr. is wonderful.. he told me i have options to take before major surgery.. i have fybroids multiple.... that bother me, but not that im doubled over in pain or not that i hemorage every month.. one option was ebolization. he said gina, now a days they have a big giant screen so the drs can really see what they are doing.... they insert something into the abdomen and shoot like a dye or something to make them go away.... dont opt for surgery unless you really need it....dont let any dr . tell you different..some are just knife happy..... for now he just gave me a prescription to a muscle relaxer to take when i have pain and i that doesnt help, i will opt for something else.. i did have 3 other surgerys. 2 laporoscopys and 1 myomectomy and they grew back.... .. their are other options... pm me if you would like to talk.. i know all about this stuff,, been through hell and back with pain... good luck |
I cant advise on this im afraid but Im glad you are getting yourself sorted xx |

I don't have any fybroids or palups. I don't feel comfortable about the endometrial ablation because what I've read 90% have to have it redone in about a year because their symptoms come back. After fighting this for 6 going on 7 years I want it to be done. I don't know about the hysterectomy though because my husband won't/can't take off work. (He says he can't.) I don't know who would care for my kids and get them to school and etc while I'm in the hospital. I have alot to think about. Also the hysterectomy has more risk involved than the other. I don't know what to do. Because of my 4 c-sections I have also built up alot of scar tissue and it may make the hysterectomy more difficult. |
Awww I am sorry you having such a rough go! |

My kids are 12yrs old, going on 11yrs old, going on 8yrs old and my daughter is 6 will be 7 in September. Of course I'm not going to schedule any thing until after my cocker Juliet has her puppies. I need to be well for that. She is due on Feb. 18th. I will probably do it the first part of March. (If the doctor can schedule it then.) I would like to do the lesser of the 2 procedures (endometrial ablation) but don't really want to have to do it again. The hysterectomy would ensure and end to my problems. It would have to be done through my adomen since I've had the 4 c-sections so I am looking at a lengthy recovery but I had my c-sections and was back to work within 9 days. (Only took that long because I spent 9 days in the hospital.) I recovered well and quickly after my sections so I don't expect any problems with the hysterectomy. I am assuming it is about the same procedure. (I really don't know though.) Any one have a c-section and then have a hysterectomy later? Are they about the same recovery wise? |
Bless your heart Kitty, I know how you feel, going thur it myself....Do some real soul searching and do whats best for you and your family...Gina is a good source of info cause she is going thur it too...I am here if I can help...I can honestly say this is the first time in my life I wish I was a man....it is awful...but if I can help let me know.....:) |

My friend had the abalation a few years ago and was so happy with it. She hardly gets a period anymore, just a small amount of bleeding each month and it hasn't had to be redone yet. Read as much as you can. Good luck |
