Pig Escort I saw the funniest thing when I was dropping my DD at school this am. 2 Chocolate colored dogs accompanied by a small black and white pig were trotting up the hill toward the school! They were so cute! I stopped and spoke to the pig and he snorted. I love pigs. The bigger of the two dogs seemed to be protecting the pig. He made every step the pig did, and actually walked touching it much of the time. So sweet. Or maybe he just knows how good pigs are at sniffing out snacks. When I stopped to speak to the pig, the big dog looked at me, friendly, yet with a definite "don't you be bothering my pig" look. The big dog was wearing a chain collar with a tag dangling, so I feel sure they belonged nearby and were just on their morning rounds. They were heading happily off up a bank when I last was them. The joys of small town life! |
That is precious! Yes, I understand the joys of small town life although I have to say I've never seen a pig and two dogs taking a walk! :D In the city, they would have been assumed rabid and probably shot. |
wow I wonder if you could find the owners? |
Dogs roam freely here much of the time. The locals look askance at the newbies out walking their dogs on leashes. I'm sure the dogs are back home by now. I did post a head's up for them on the town forum. I guess I should have tried to corrall them and taken them home, but I was leary of the big dog. He gave a "don't mess with me" vibe. Plus, I could never run down a pig! |
Country animals that are allowed to roam are usually pretty darn savy as to where they are going and where they live. |
