Barbaro (horse) has been euthanized. This is so very sad. He fought long and hard and I know he is free of pain now. Still so so sad. http://sports.aol.com/news/articles/...00010000000001 |
I just read about this on the Yahoo mainpage. How sad this is... :( But yes, he is in a much better place now... |
So horrible. It's been so long since he had the surgery.. I was sure that he was going to make it after all these months and months. I live in Philadelphia, so they have followed his story a lot. They showed a video of him last week and he could barely walk. Poor thing. |
So sad I know the owner did everything to try and keep him alive. Not something that they usually do for injured race horses. |
Gosh, poor guy. He fought long and hard. |
Poor guy.:( He fought long and hard but it just wasn't in the cards for him. At least he's pain free and at a better place now. |
I have been following his story since day one. I hoped for the best and thought he was going to make it. At least his owners did help him fight this and didnt give up on him. Im sure it was a hard decision but Im sure it was for the best. Saw him on the news the other day and was saddened to hear his situation was going downhill. |
What a beautiful horse he was and such a great battle he fought..... |
So sad, I hate unhappy endings:cry2: |
Thank you for posting this i have been out since noon shopping for my GE and just got back on line. I called my GF who was at work to tell her this news. Her and her Husband are personal friends of Barbaro's owner and we all had been following his health. She had received the call re Barabaro from Mrs Jackson shortly after he had been put down. We are all very sad here now of hearing the news in Cincinnati. |

Oh My Goodness! I thought he was getting better! I just read an article last week about how well he was doing!! What happened?? This is sooo sad, but I know he is in a better place - free of pain! |
Poor guy. i really thought he'd make it. :( I don\'t want to step on any toes here, but this is the exact reason that I\'ve never supported horse racing, and I never will. He was only 4 years old, baisically a baby, and horse racing screwed up his entire life. though I do want to say that I think his owners are wonderful because unlike what most race horses\'s owners would do, they fought to keep him alive. I feel awful for them. |
Very well said Megan.... I though he\'d make it too - :( how sad |
Everyone was pulling for him I heard it today too......so sad. I was really happy to hear his owners did not put him down right away, like some horses have been, but tried to save him. I am sure that there will be little ponies frolicking this fall.....from a wonderful stud like Barbarino.... |
