ANyone else love Thai food? In need on recipe! I LOVE Thai food! There is a place called Tasty Thai in my area and I looove their Pad Prik King (spicy meat (chicken) with green beans in a thin spicy curry sauce) My birthday is this week and me and my BF are outta town at college and I am craving some Pad Prik King!! So he's going to try to make it soooooo anyone have a great recipe???? thank you soooo much, in advance! |
I just finished my first taste of Thai. In fact, that what it was. A Taste of Thai Coconut Ginger Noodles. It was pretty good but it left me very thirsty. |
I did find one I have not tried in my Thai cookbook. It is actually Pad Prik Khing Moo, which is pork and cabbage. You should be able to easy substitute Chicken for the Pork, and Green Beans for the cabbage. I have not made this, so I have no idea how good it is! 3 TBLS Oil 1 LB pork thinly sliced 3 TBLS Curry paste 1/4 Cup fish sauce (nam pla) 2 TBLS Sugar 1 C chopped cabbage 5 kaffir lime leaves thinly sliced (bai ma-grood) Heat a large skillet and add 1 TBL oil and pork. Stir-fry for 7 minutes or until meat is crispy, then remove from pan and set aside Pour out excess fat and add rest of oil. Add the curry paste and cook for a few seconds. Add all the other ingredients except the kaffir lime leaves, heat to boiling, and then stir in crispy meat. Remove to a serving bowl and garnish with kaffir lime leaves. Enjoy your birthday week |

Also, try this when you get home, we love this and had it again last night. I'll even throw in a salad for you. Thai Cilantro Chicken 4-6 boneless chicken breasts 3 garlic cloves, peeled 4 dashes of GREEN Tabasco sauce 1 or 2 bunchs cilantro leaves washed and cut up 1 finely grated rind of a lime 3 Tbsp limejuice 2 Tbsp soy sauce 1 Tbsp white sugar 1 can coconut milk Cut three slashes in the top side of the chicken breasts Put all the ingredients minus the chicken in a blender or food processor until a smooth puree forms Cook all ingredients on 350 for 1/2 hour in Pyrex, and remove from oven Place chicken on a cookie sheet, drain off excess marinade Broil under preheated oven for about 15 minutes, turning 1/2 way through Meanwhile place remaining marinade in a saucepan and bring to a boil, then simmer for several minutes. Pour sauce over chicken and serve with rice or pasta. Salad: Spring mix lettuce (purchased in a bag) Toasted slivered almonds Red onion Crumbled gorgonzola cheese Sliced pear (I buy it in a can) Brianna's blush wine vinaigrette salad dressing Total prep time, around 10-15 minutes for both dishes |
