We seen them this time last year, here in W.V. My boys LOVE basketball, so they enjoyed it emensely. They can do some pretty amazing things with that ball. |
I was lucky enough to see the original GlobeTrotters when Meadowlark Lemmon and Curley were part of the team. I saw them again many years later and with all new players. While the newer team was awesome, I don't think anything can compare with the original group. They sure make it look easy. |

They are awesome! I LOVE those guys! :p I, too, was fortunate enough to have seen the original team ... RoxyJo'sMom ... are we telling our age?!? :sidesplt: |
We went to see them a few years ago and it was just as you said -- one of the best family times we ever had. My son had the greatest time. Afterwards the Globetrotter's signed autographs and my son still has the signed basketball on a shelf in his room. They were so nice to the kids, taking time and a good word for each of them. |
That looks like a ton of fun!!! I'll have to go see them sometime. |

What a fantastic thing to do with the kids, too:D Glad you won the tickets, that's so cool:) |
Uh Oh, Tracy and Bettyanne - we definitely are showing our age.:p Should we tell all these "puppies" all about how we all had to walk to school 2 miles in the snow uphill - both ways - and sometimes barefooted? LOL! Seriously, tho, the Globetrotters, no matter which group, have always been an amazing group of guys - not just for their playing abilities - but as people, too. I am so glad the "GlobeTrotters" have continued to do their good deeds all these years. There is another group, very similar to them but I can't remember theri name, that do the same thing. They play for smaller venues, but do basically the same thing. I have seen them, too. |

Yes, there was a cartoon show about them. How about this - I loved the original Captain Kangaroo, when he was in the Treasure House, before he moved onto the boat. My uncle raised beagles, silkies, skye terriers and bichon frisee's(?), his kennel was the first in the East to carry them when they first came became available in the states. He was working for Amy VanderBilt's sister. He trained the dogs for the Westminster Dog Show (lived in Danbury, CT) and took them to NY but wasn't the one to take them into the ring. I don't think he had any first place winners, but I remember when he sold a beautiful silkie to Capt. Kangaroo! I thought that was the neatest thing back then since the Capt. was my hero. |
