Do Meds make you loopy? I am taking Tylenol cold and flu and in between doses Motron IB. This is what my Doc told me to do. Well, this stuff is making me really loopy. Do meds make you loopy or feel weird? |
The tylenol cold and flu is what is getting you. :) It has an antihistamine in it and that will make you feel sleepy or "loopy". Remember the old saying "rest and fluids"... well... That medicene takes care of one of those.. get in bed and rest! Drink plenty of fluids and you'll feel better quicker. :) |
Yes, it is the cold medicine - no matter which type I try, it always makes me feel loopy. But sometimes I just have to take it to control the symptoms - but I sure don't like the way it makes me feel. I'm sorry you are feeling badly |
Those kinds of meds don't make me loopy...only STRONG meds make me loopy--muscle relaxers knock me out. When I had my wisdom teeth removed and I was given percocet, they made me hallucinate. I was swatting flies away that weren't there  |
Hope you feel better real soon Hi Tricia, Hope you get well soon. Did you let the dr. know how that is affecting you? In desperation I went and got the Mucinex Dm. Hoping this will help me. I have never used it before. The antibiotic hasn't done anything. So many, many sick here, now Jack is coming down with it too :( the box states parkinsons patients can't take this so had to call his dr. to get something that he can take. By the way I will get a picture to you soon, the little coat was a bit big but I did some adjusting for Baby Blessing and she looks darling in it. Thank you again. Take care and hope the ice isn't bad where you are. It has been horribly cold here. Patti |
Thanks, I did tell my Doc but she just said "everything makes you loopy". I am not at all sleepy actually just the opposite. I am buzzing a bit  Patti, thank you and I am so glad it worked out. Can't wait to see the pics... |
I took the Tylenol cold and flu stuff today. You could say I was 'loopy.' But I was knocked out once I fell asleep! I think that's how it helps you sleep. All it really does is make you insane, therefore making you sleep better. Ha, I'm a genious. :p |
Nope, it has little to no affect on me now. I had pain meds for years due to health problesm and I have become immune to them. But a few years back before all of this, the strong pain meds would make me really loopy. But now Percocet does absolutely nothing for me and Vicodin (sp?) will make me a little bit drowsy but I have to take a high dose. Of course my migrane medicine imitrex makes me drowsy a bit too. I don't take Tylenol or Asprin any more as they too do absolutely nothing. I am sorry you are not feeling well, I hope you feel better soon!!! |
Most cold meds that have an ingredient that "can cause drowsiness" make me loopy as well - not at all sleepy, but very jittery. I have found that I can take Claritin and Alavert and that is about it. I hope you feel better very soon. |
They make me tired |
The only medicine that seems to have an adverse effect on me is NyQuil. Everytime I take NyQuil before bed I have the most effed up bad dreams. |
Most any cold meds make me feel all medicine head, even if it says day time, or non drowsy. I still feel tired and just weird. I hate taking medicine! Hope you get to feeling better soon! |

Gosh, I have missed Yorkie Talk. Hope you are doing much better. Patti and Baby Blessing |
Any kind of medicine makes me loopy, one regular strength Advil makes me sleep 14 hours straight. Even supplements make me loopy because I seldom take any. |
Feel better soon.....I can't take any thing but regular old tylenol or advil. Everything makes me feel nauseas or my head itches terribly. I have an awful reaction to antihistamines. Even after having surgery I just take Advil, I hate how medications make me feel...my husband says it's the control freak in me...;) I make the Dr's mad when I won't take or fill a pain med prescription..oh well, my body and I hate feeling worse by the meds. I just use nose spray and advil for colds and lots of tea w/ honey and soup. Maybe a blueberry tea.....:p |
