It has been getting a lot of coverage & this front is so strange that they don't know what's going to happen. Is it worse out your way? It seems that the news is saying that west of FW is getting it worse than we are here.

Oh my gosh...I'm glad your Mom is OK! And thank heavens for Good Samaritans. Which was was she heading from Irving? I hope she's home now & called you from there.

She was going east on I30. She actually lives in Texarkana. I think she's still 45minutes to an hour away from home (at the speed she's having to go) It happened around Mt. Vernon.

Oh no! I am glad she is ok and got some help! I will keep her in my thoughts/prayers for no more problems.

We willl keep her in our prayers & hope that she makes it safely (although slowly!) home. I bet you are relieved she decided to leave early because tomorrow sounds even worse!

Right now all we have is cold. I'm not a cold weather girl - the reason I've stayed in Cali - if there is cold with snow I'm fine, but there is no snow.

Thank you. I'm so glad she left. I didn't want her to leave, but was glad that she did because I knew it was going to get bad tonight because the temp's going to drop & tomorrow sounds pretty bad, too.

We got out and went ahead and went downtown to see the dog show in Dallas Convention Center and then went to get groceries because heading back home.....and there were lots of people out and about and the roads were fine. (We got to see the Yorkies show today and there were some pretty yorkies......it was fun to watch!)
I just read that you work at one of the elementary schools in Midlothian. My brother's wife is from there. You probably know her niece and nephew. They are about your age also. I haven't talked to them to see if their keeping warm. I live about 35-40 minutes from yall. A little town called Granbury.

I'm glad there was someone around to help your mom. I'm not driving anywhere until I have to. This weather needs to pass.

Our weather was good here too. The temp was about 70; however, our high on Wednesday is supposed to be 40:eek: I know that's not as bad as some places, but it is cold when you are used to 70 degree temps. I wish it would either stay cold or stay warm.

The weather people ARE Freaking everyone out - my friend had to cut short a trip to Dallas today ....he left early in the morning and missed the whole reason he rented a car and drove from Houston to Dallas last night - but TEXAS isn't used to ice so they all freak out on tv. Being from back east ....this is nuthin ! but I feel for you guys up there - it's 80 degrees :( right now here in Houston at 7 pm but raining.

80 degrees Villette!! That's so not fair!!! It's a high of 17 here & it's sleeting right now!!! On top of 2 days of other sleet! Plus we're supposed to get snow this evening! AGHHHH.....well...good thing I have 4 wheel drive! LOL!:D

We are having thunder and lighting ice storms now. It is very bizarre. Its like one of our spring time storms except it is dumping icy rain/sleat.

My DH works for the OGE (our local electric company). He was called out. We have lot of towns with out power, and its getting worse by the minute.

They said on the news here that the people that work for the electric cos here are on alert in case they're needed. But so far so good.
