Just a thought... what about ebay? There's always deals on there! I buy a lot of stuff from there, but be careful WHO you buy from. Check their feedback score. You will def. find a razor or replacement phone on there MUCH cheaper than any retail store. If you need any more info with this, PM me!

Okay, this is weird. It still says insert SIM card but will let me dial 911- not that I did but it says emergency calls only. I have a Razr also so I put my SIM in her phone and it said the same thing. I put her SIM in my phone and it worked just fine so it's not her SIM card. Her phone is just not reading the SIM. I'm going to take it to Cingular tommorrow and see what they say.

That's a good idea! Just tell them one morning the phone stopped working.

I had a friend who dropped her phone in a pool. She let it dry and took it to her provider (don't remember who) and said I don't know what happened- it just stopped working. Well he took it apart and said, well that's because you dropped it in water.:eek: Very, very embarrassing. I guess they know what to look for.

My daughter said they same thing.They can tell right away if it has been dropped in water.

Oh okay. :p Good thing you knew ahead of time!!! But, if that happened to me, I would start ranting an raving about how my "daughter lied to me and didn't tell me she must have dropped it in water." :lol tears

i dropped my phone in the bath tub b4 and it was in there for a while before i noticed, but i let it dry and it was working just fine a day or 2 later.

all phones have a white paper near the battery and if the phone hits water the paper turns purple. so all they have 2 do is open up the battery and check the papers color. most likely they will not replace the phone.

The phone never did work again but I found a good deal on one through ebay and ordered it. It should be here tomorrow. Luckily her SIM card still works.
