eDieting anyone? Has anyone ever joined any of the online "eDieting" sites? I haven't checked into any of them yet --- wanted to see if anyone has used any of these or any others, what you thought about them, etc. Here are some - they all charge you per day (I think) eDiets.com jennycraig.com (jenny direct) diettoyourdoor.com zonedietathome.com There are some other sites too, like this one for the Biggest Loser: http://www2.biggestloserclub.com/lan...All+Affiliates |
Okay, I just went to the Biggest Loser site and did a free profile.......If you sign up, it is $5 per week!!! Anyway, here is my results of my profile............ It said that my ideal BMI is 24 My current BMI is 27.5 My healthy weight is 107.8-145.1 and Daily Calorie intake should be 1,200 Okay.......that weight scale is such a big difference - I mean really! Can anyone help me understand the results of this profile? |
BMI = Body Mass Index. It is a calculation based on your height relative to your weight. HOWEVER, it is a somewhat GENERAL guideline. It doesn't apply to individuals to are either extremely muscular (like bodybuilders) or extremely thin (anorexic models) as it doesn't give the right result. Reading directly from your post, it shows your ideal versus what your current BMI is. Basically, your a little over your ideal BMI. It tells you what your ideal weight should be. And gives you a basic calorie intake for you based on your height. For the most part, anyone trying to lose weight should consume about 1,200 calories anyway. Consuming less than this (and for long period of time) starts getting dangerous IMO. It isn't giving your any special info in my opinion. It is a good tool and guideline to use. What you do from here, is up to you. At this point, you have to decide what to do. (This is where they start pitching you their diet plans, workout regimen, etc.). |
I knew they wanted you to sign up and pay per week for their "services" - they offered alot, can't remember what all they had though. Anyway, I just that that was a big difference in the weight - I mean, anywhere from 107-145! That is a huge difference for an ideal weight. - I had to type in my weight and height, etc. I guess I am really not concerned w/ weight - well, I am, because I need to loose some, but I just want to get back to feeling good and looking good! I don't want to be at 145 for my height - I am going for 125 for my 5'4 frame. |
The same that these sites charge you for you can do for free on discoveryhealth.com They have the national body challenge going on so you get meal plans all listed out and workouts and such. I am defintely not going to pay for all this info when I can get it for free. If you are looking for a support team check out WeighIns - Online Weight Loss Challenges. I am on there. It is like a myspace for those losing weight. I have found great support on there. |
Yes, 40 lbs is a big range. But I'm sure it's taking into account things like people with larger bones or more muscle mass. |
