My Mom has GERD and she has a lot of your symptoms, the meds make her sick so she doesn;t take them and she weighs 82 lbs now. SHe is 87 years old though. The doctor did give her a Gerd Medicine I think it was Acipex or something like that and it is a disolvable tablet that she puts under her tounge so it doesn't go in her stomach. I hope the Doctor can help you. I will pray for you. |
sending a prayer your way. I hope the diagnosis is absolutely nothing, that you're on your way to being 100% better |
Ellen - I hope you are better really soon. How awful this must be for you and especially to not know what is wrong. Thoughts and prayers coming your way. |
Ellen, I am so sorry your so sick. Is there someone there to help you? If you do not get any answers from the Doc on Thurs I would suggest you go to another doc for help. You should not be in so much pain for so long without an answer. Prayer's coming for you to be better. Please keep us informed. Carol & Buddy |
How long have you been going through this for? When I get the flu that's how I am, I can't even hold water down...but it sounds like you've been going through this for a long time. I hope they find out what's wrong. You're in my prayers |

Know what I hate the most, is vomiting in your sleep, you wake up gagging. Luckily I make it to bathroom every time it happens. I was hoping the GERD would subside a bit after I had my gastric pacemaker put in for the gastroparesis, but it didnt. To test for gastroparesis you should be given a gastric emptying study, you eat this nasty radioactive egg and they take pictures of your stomach and see how much empties during the 4 hour period. When I had mine done before my surgery nothing moved in the 4 hour period. I hate having this test done but now Im curious how much is emptying since my pacer implant. The pacer is the last resort when every other medical treatment fails |
Just wondering how it went? |
Hey guys you all where right its GERD....The docter gave me pervaid to go with the other 2 meds....She said it would take a few days BUT I would feel better. Thank you guys for all the prayers :D :D |

I am sorry you have this, but so glad they found out what it is and that it is treatable. I use to take Aciphex 20 MG, but my insurance no longer covers it. I now take Protonix 40 MG. I have no symptoms anymore. A friend of mine waited way to long to have it checked and almost died. His esophagus was so badly damaged he had to have surgery and they almost lost him on the table. We are so lucky we are now being treated and everything will be okay. |

I'm so glad you found out that it is something treatable. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I know how scarey it is to sit and wait for a diagnosis. We alwyas think the worst. |
So glad to hear it's very treatable. Krysten was just diagnosed with a very bad case of GERD. She took the Protonix for 2 weeks then went to OTC Prilosec but that makes her sick. But at least she can eat now. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. |
