For the women: At what age did your "visitor" LEAVE! I thought the other thread was so cute I decided to try this one on for size. I can hardly wait for that day, and wonder at what age your "visitor" finally stopped? My intent of this questioning is for natural menopause. If yours was surgical, you might want to mention that. |
I had to have a total hysterectomy at age 32...yeaaa no more periods! I had to have one because my babies were too big, 9 lbs 21.5" & 10 lbs 22" and I had endometriosis. |
Mine left in my very early forties. Thank goodness. But I had been having the s/s for at least ten years before that. |

More info would be greatly appreciated! |
Well, mine definitely are not gone - but I feel I have been perimenopausal for a while now (age 45). They are getting heavier with frequent spotting inbetween. I'm hoping they will go away VERY SOON!!!! |
I was 51 1/2 when mine stopped completley. Hot flashes are bad and I had a lot of and still do, dizziness. Also a lot of irritability. I went on Antidepressants to help with the symptoms as as well as for my anxiety and it helped a lot. It is nice to have no periods and no bloating. |
i'm 47, soon to be 48 and i havent had a vistor in over 2 yrs :D . i do get the occasional hot flush not anything unbearable , mostly at night and i dont feel i have any mood swings or anything like that, but ask my husband and i am sure he would say different about that. but i really dont feel any different except i dont have to worry about when that visitor is gona come creeping into my life each month. |
Late 40's not sure just when. All in all it wasn't so bad, the hot flashes and night sweats can be annoying, but I didn't suffer any terrible mood swings. |
I was 42 and I don't miss her one little bit 'cause I got her when I was 9! :girl: Got the nasty night sweats and still do but not as often, but the hot flashes were seldom. Didn't really have mood swings, but noticed that I was alot, Alot, ALOT less tolerant of inconsideration. :lightning The one thing that does drive me nuts though is the addition of hair to places that never had it before - like my upper lip! Now that's just not fair and down right mean. I'm having a conversation with the Lord when I get up there about that one.:questione |

Mine stopped at 35. It was a 3lb Fibroid Cyst that was in the uterine wall and ruptured. Happiest day of my life! |
Well Im to young to have menopause and didnt have surgery. I have been on Depo Provera for about 3-4 years now and I havent had my "little visitor" since I started the depo. The pill isnt an option for me since i have gastroparesis and Im allergic to the tape in the patch. |
I am 42 and can tell the change is close...the problem is the weight gain. I look at the Christmas cookies and gain a pound!! The dr. said to exercise through it..what does HE know. |
I lost my visitor at 27 due to a partial hysterectomy. But, have been going through menopausal symptoms since I was 38. I started taking Estroven at 39 to ease the symptoms. Now at 40 it still works for the irritability, mood swings and sleepless nights. But, the night sweats have gotten totally unbearable. So, I'll be graduating to the Maximum Strength Estroven just as soon as the after Christmas sales rush dies down. |
47 and I was soooo happy!!! I did have some hot flashes but not too bad. I had low bone density so I went on hormore replacement therapy for 4 years, so nice, I slept better and NO hot flashes. I decided to go off a couple of years ago and did start having a few mild hot flashes, but again, not too bad. I take Evista now for my bones. I do have trouble sleeping some times, but I just work through that. I'm so glad to be done with THAT visitor! :) |
