I'm with you .. I hate trinkets(Ummm... except good jewelry). if you buy me somethign it better either quality , something i talked about or I'll even take cute and funny . like a light up pen with tinkerbell or something. But PLEASE no plastic flower arrangements or WOODEN SPOONS:p |
you know when i go get gifts i think long and hard about it and, i get something that they can use or means something, i never just throw somethign together cause they can like tell that you just threw it together, i remeber last year i had no money to buy my son stuff and i just had my last son the passed away, but he was sick at christmas time he was 10 days old, so i really had no interest in gifts but i had to make it good for my son, so i wrapped up stuff he had won but didnt know about from sellig the most cookie in the school fund raiser and he loved it, but all i could think about was crying, it was horrible but he didnt know and he still talks about his cool gifts, but this year thank heavans some things changes and i could buy gifts |
Well I have always got great presents from my family, especially hubby, he is so good at picking presents out, EVEN CLOTHES, he says he doesn't like it though because there have been several times that he has been at walmart or somewhere getting my presents and a woman or women comment that they wish their hubby picked out good stuff like that, he says it embarrasses him, but I think its cool. But anyway one year in my hubby's stocking I put an actual piece of coal in there as a gag gift but he didn't like it too much. (As if he didn't get other presents) But it don't think it help because that was the year where one of my presents was a diamond necklace! But at least I can laugh about it now, LOL. :D |
when me and my hubby were first married he bought me a lot of big presents....and i was so excited to open them up. imagine my surprise when they all turned out to be a car buffer set including a big old honkin' tin of turtle wax!!! at first i thought it was a joke but he was actually serious!!! i was so mad at him i didn't speak to him till way after New Years. so all the next christmas' he gave me jewelry:D :D :D |
Ok my first husband gave me one year a baby gate!!! I had been saying we need to get one for my baby and what do you know A BABY GATE!!! Bad bad bad Current hubby is forever giving gag gifts (why waste the money??) First Christmas he gives me a PINK members only jacket, BAD then last year i get a Napolean Dynamite t-shirt. All in all I get really great things he does me up good, but I hate the gag gifts!! I always get switches and coal in a box under the tree somewhere too never fails!! |
My grandma is always good about showing how I am not her favorite grandchild. I am always last on her list so I think she gets my gifts with her leftover money from everyone else. My three younger cousins got a lot of cool toys, my brother got a year gym membership, my husband got a Peyton Manning jersey, what did I get? I got tinkerbell pajamas that were way to big and a bottle of lotion. The pjs were so big they sat in my closet until now that I'm 9 months pregnant, they fit! ;) |

Mine was a gag gift. In 2004 ALL I wanted was a cell phone. I asked for one a million billion times. So I open up this present and it's a barbie cell phone. I glared at my mom and she goes "You didn't say you wanted a REAL cell phone." I was going to kill her. Then she gave me another present....and it was a cell phone. That was actually pretty funny. |

My Grandma always got us a hair clip or some ugly figurine and you could see the yellow Dollar General sticker leftovers on the bottom. And then my cousins (who were the favorites because they were "full" Hispanic) got the nice gifts! Grrr! Why even freaking bother?!? As if we weren't smart enough to realize that they got the expensive gifts, and we got the dollar gifts. :( |

Well I guess some won't think this is too bad but my Mom as she gets older has taken a liking to BIG Jewlery!!!! I got a ring that is HUGE...A blue topaz that is a beautiful stone but man, it would weight me down if I were to wear it! I hate the thing. Another year she got me this pin that is a teddy bear that has moveable arms and legs... YUCK!!! Both were probably exspencive...I'm sure they were QVC because she always watches it and buys stuff off it. When I first got married I got a coffee maker from my Hubby, (I only drank tea at the time! ) THAT gift was pretty much for HIM! </IMG> |
My worst was a nail clipper from my parents..WHYYY? |

Haha! Mine was in my stocking, too :) Thing is..I know where all of mine are! :D |
One year a guy I was dating gave me a big expensive Craftsman tool kit. The kind with ratchets and wrenches and screw drivers and all kinds of stuff that I didn't know what to do with. He said he thought I might want to learn to work on my car myself. He was wrong. I still have it and I have never used it. It's a really nice set though. |
Every year at Christmas I get gifts from my clients, You know the normal stuff Money, checks, candles, candy, lots of candy but the thing I get from one lady every year is she makes this fruit cake. I do not know any one that likes fruit cake but I am sure there are people as they sell it at the store. Well at least they have it there so I assume someone buys it...... Well this year this woman brought me in two of them and I kept trying to regift them to any one that came in the shop no takers, Then Ricky the young man that works for me said, Are you going to eat the fruit cakes, I said no and I can't find any one that will , and he told me that his Mother loves it.... I said to him take them to her and Merry Christmas. I share a lot of my gifts with my employees, there is just so much stuff, but I did get a bottle of Bailey's the new Chocolate Mint flavor and that I am not sharing........ |

I ask my boyfriend for a tool set this year as I own my house and it seems like I never have the right tool to fix things. He was so excited to get to go shopping for a tool kit for me. |

My hubands friend who weighs about four hundred pounds bought me thong underwear and told me he would custom fit them for me.:thumbdown My favorite worst gift is for my first christmas as a married couple my husband bought me a clapper. Okay it was a joke but, it was really tacky. |

I gave one of "those" presents.... I was so very proud of myself 'cause I had found the PERFECT gift for my husband who has everything! At the time he worked for NCR (national cash register) --high level programmer. Anyway, he was fascinated with the old cash registers. I went into a candy making supply store and they had an antique cash register. In fact it was the cash register they were using for the store. And I bought it! Well, this wasn't one of the cute little trim cash registers, it was a humongous thing made of some kind of heavy metal..... It took TWO BIG grown men to load it into my mini-van and when I got it home it took our family friend HUGE man and a dolly to move it into our living room where it sat for two years-- cause it was too heavy to move..... LOL I was so proud of myself for having found the cash register -- the look on Ron's face when he took the paper away was priceless. I had paid a WHOLE bunch of $$ for it and he was like....oh my..... Years later, I think it wound up in the landfill..... |
