Who's cooking? For Christmas? How many will be there and what is on the menu? Let's share: I'll go first. I cook every Christmas. I love it, really. My son and two daughters and their spouses and my 5 grandchildren. They are Brittney 19, Christopher 17, Johnny 12, Nicole 5 and baby Isabella Rose 2mos. Oh let's not forget my grandpups Harley the pug and new pup Charger the cavapoo. The menu is pretty much the same every Christmas. My kids don't want anything changed so I will be cooking: Appetizers: Antipasta Shrimp cocktail with crapmeat cocktail sauce (homemade) Motzsarella carroza (fried motzsarella sandwiches dipped in egg) Baked clams oreganata We will open our presents after that. Dinner: Baked Lasanga Hot saugage, sweet saugage, pork and meatballs Garlic Bread Dessert: Coffee, expresso, and whatever the girls bring for dessert. I will bake some butter cookies and my fudge. That's it. After that I pass out! Probably more from drinking the wine than the cooking.:D |
I am for the first time!!! I did Thanksgiving for the first time too as my parents are too old and moved to an apartment by me. I hate cooking! Very rarely do it. I am having Prime Rib, Yorkshire Pudding, green Been Casserole, mashed potatos, gravy and rolls. Having 16 people. |
This will be the first Christmas where I'm cooking for my parents. It will be them, my hubby and Jaxon of course. I'll be doing a turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots and probably an appetizer like shrimp dip. Dessert will be pumpkin pie - hubby's fav. |
This is my 1st time hosting Christms dinner for my in-laws. I don't cook, so thankfully they aren't expecting too much. Hubby and I went on-line and ordered everything from Honey Baked Ham. It was a little pricey, but worth it for the domestically challenged, like myself! :p |
I love cooking for Christmas but wont be home this year we are taking a trip and wont be home this year untill Christmas day. Then we are going to my mother in laws house |
Congratulations to you first timers. That is so sweet of you to cook for your parents and in-laws. Christmas is the last holiday left for me because my kids have taken over the others and I get to sit then. I am not ready to give this one up yet. I am sure all your dinners will be delicious. My Mom and Aunt (Mom's sister) used to split all the holidays. My Aunt passed away 4 yrs ago so, my cousin (Aunt's daughter) has Christmas dinner...all the fixings... We start out at my house...my girls and their husband/boyfriend come here Christmas Eve...we have appetizers and open gifts...(I'm remarried so the girls have EVERY busy holidays). Then we spend some time with friends. After dinner at my cousins we go to my Parents house and open gifts (Christmas night). My parents used to put on a big meal but, after a big Christmas dinner we aren't very hungry so, I suggested appetizers this year...Mom thought this was a great idea so this is what we are doing! I just love Christmas! |
