Tennis Elbow I have been battlling a lot of elbow pain for the last 30-40 days. I went to the Dr this afternoon. He said I had bad case of tennis elbow and needed an injection. I can not begin to tell you how much that shot hurt. I almost starting bawling like a baby right there in his office. Has anyone else had that before? |
I have never had it, but I play tennis and a lot of my tennis buddies have had it before. |
I have never had it but have heard how bad it is.... Bless you! d |
I am still having trouble with my elbow. I had an MRI and it came back showing a lot of calcium deposits and tears in my tendons. They said best way to fix it is surgery. I scheduled the surgery for March the 30th. |
oh! sorry to hear that, but hopefully they will fix you right up! d |
I"m sorry to hear that! Hopefully, the surgery will take care of the problem. Be sure to be diligent with the physical therapy - it will really help a lot in the recovery. Good luck |
I had a bad case of tennis elbow, and I can sympathise. I got a series of shots, which helped, I think. THe best thing for me, though, was to stay on ibuprofen. By keeping the inflamation down, it can heal. I still have flareups now and then, and I don't know if it will ever be the way it was before my injury. |

Never had tennis elbow, but had a trigger thumb once and they gave me a cortisone shot in the joint. OMG - I think I'd rather give birth naturally than to ever go through that again. It was so painful. Hope your surgery goes well. |
He did that. The second time, I told him, he was either going to have to put more of it in there or drug me. He said that it would mean he was putting more fluid in there so it would take longer for it to process. He did it and it went much better. After 4 of them, there was still no sign of it working at all. I still can not hold a cup of coffee with that arm. Quote:

My surgery is tomorrow. Although I was a OR Tech in the military, I have never had an operation or even an IV. So this is going to be an experience. I have modesty issues and I am a bit of a control freak. So, turning everything over to someone else will be hard. On the flip side, I am so ready to start feeling better! |
I'm sorry that you have to have surgery, but I'm hopeful that you will feel better soon - as soon as you recover from the surgery. One thing to remember is that it probably won't feel better immediately. Don't be worried about that. Do your rehab or exercises or whatever your doc tells you to do and I bet you will be feeling better in no time! Good luck! |
Thanks, I am hoping that as long as I do the physical therapy, the recovery time will not be long. Quote:
