OK Ladies (and guys) Any GOOD Advise ?? After getting inspired by Jodi - chloeandj - who's kicked BUTT losing weight (Go girl !) any advise on that 10 Lbs that won't come off ? I have a plan to kick a diet into high gear so I lose it before the holidays not after - but am finding that after you hit 40 'something' it's WAY HARDER to lose weight - Way WAY harder :( Anyone have any tips ?? |

Lots of water, fruit, raw veggies, and the treadmill. (walk, walk, and walk) |

V, I have been walking 3 to 5 miles a day for the last almost 6 months. I am back down to my normal weight. I gained 60lbs while on prednisone and now have lost everybit of it. When I can't go out to walk I walk the treadmill. Good Luck girl, you can do it.:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: |

LOL,you bet. Now get your a$$ off the computer and on the treadmill. (JK);) You are so funny... I started kick boxing a couple weeks ago it is fun, but man it kicks my butt. |

You could always take pole dancing for a month then chair dancing. It helped me lose weight and it was FUN!!! Get out and take those girls for a long walk :) And while everyone is motivating you, I could use some too :) |
Villette, I seen your most recent pic and you really do look great. Now did you walk, and how much? LOL Kimberly, is there really a class for pole dancing? |
I started taking exercise classes 2 months ago, not really to loose weight but to tone up, because when you get into your 50's your body goe to you know where even if your weight is ok. I joined the park district health club and do drop in classes and have been doing 3-4 classes a week. Like I said Iwasn't looking to loose weight but I lost 4 lbs and have gotten toned up. I still need to do more cardio as I am mostly doing strenght and toning classes. Let me add that I have never exercised before, never went to a gym but fortunately I am naturally thin but even that doesnt help as you get older, everything shifts!!!!lol So Villette get walking!!! |

I just did my 20 minutes on my elliptical, V. If I can do it so can you! LOL I'm shooting for 20 more pounds by christmas. I hope I can do it. At this point my husband is my biggest motivation, especially since he has really gotton serious about this weight loss and his health. We had thanksgiving AND a wedding this weekend that had awesome food, he didn't have one bite that he shouldn't have, I was so proud of him. I on the other hand did cheat and I hate that I did :( But oh well, get up and keep going... V, I wonder if you have a friend close by you that would exercise with you. A few years back when I lived closer to my best friend we would talk away while on our treadmill, it made the time fly. |
What I do is drink tons of water and stay away from red meats. Sometimes I like to use the elliptical for 30 minutes 5 days a week, but that gets SO BORING. Lol |

I agree with what people said about the water. Drink water and ONLY water because just think about it, if you do drink soda and juice everyday that adds necessary calories when water is 0 calories so there are no extra calories to what you eat everyday. Plus it cleans your body. Also do a lot of cardio exercise, which makes your heart pump faster, that's what makes you lose weight. Try jogging 5 times a day but if you can't then just walk fast, it's better than doing nothing. And you can build up your stamina from there, walk and speed up the threadmill a little everyday. |
