Need suggestions My daughter is getting married Saturday and her Husband to be has two children,a son 8 and a daughter 6. I wanted to buy them a gift to welcome them into our family. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? |
A photo album for them to start taking pictures of their new family. And maybe a digital camera, if they don't already have one to take those pics. |
Thats a good idea.Wish I would have thought of it in time to start one with a scrapbooking page or two with our side of the family. kinda like an introduction. |

I can't think of anything, but what a wonderful thing to do. |
gift idea When my husband and I got married, my husbands parents bought my daughters each a braclet with their name on one side and the date on the back as a keepsake. I thought it was a very nice thing to do. 18 years later they still have them. I also liked the camara and album idea too! Best wishes to your new family! |
I like the camera/album idea too! You could also look at the same sort of gifts that ring bearers and flower girls often get -- things like the silver-plated banks from Things Remembered; engraved ID bracelets, pendants, engraved trinket box, etc. They also make Family Unity jewelry -- 3 rings entwined to signify the family (http://www.idotaketwo.com/shopping/J...edallion.html), or the modern looking mom, dad, and children sculptures. They are also old enough for a watch (there will always be "time" for you two) or a clock -- I have seen some cute football, sports car and "girly" table clocks. Not much time left, but you could put together a gift basket for each with smaller gifts, maybe some things to occupy them during the reception. |
I think a keepsake of some sort in what ever interests them. |
