Let it snow ~
But not in California! Here is my latest little creation of a tropical snowman; I wanted to crunch him so he looked like he was melting, (it’s currently 85 here) but decided I would probably screw up his lights. My backyard is my creative zone; I will move things to the front yard end of next week……I’m a decorating maniac, poor house looks like a war zone, and dh and I love every single last minute of it. (Not that he helps, nor do I want him to.) I’m excited to show everyone the end result, but it will be at least a week or more for the outside. The inside, I have only just begun…….

That is SO COOL !! I love it and you're so talented !!! They'd steal it where I live but you go girl !! It's WONDERFUL and perfect for a tropical Christmas -


I LOVE the lights at Christmas but I don't DO lights :( and my husband can't anymore so I guess I'm selling all our Christmas stuff - he has almost 10 thousand $$ worth of Christmas Decorations - and no - we didn't buy it together he came to me with all that lol

Seriously, that makes me very sad, as “L” obviously loved decorating for Christmas. If I was closer I would come manned with my staple gun. I do all the lights every year, I just enjoy it, and the hubby hung them crocked one year, so I took away his staple gun, and have been doing it every since…..(I think he did it on purpose) :rolleyes:

My hats off to you - even if I hadn't hurt my shoulder I don't know if I'd tackle the lights - i used to do it and it's Work lol - good for you woman - and I really do love your Holiday Sunman :D

Thanks Patti and Kristin! It's hard to come up with something new every year. :rolleyes: However, this year I have a few things up my stocking...........:)

I have that same snowman -- but never thought to make him a Tropical Boy! LOL! Very creative -- can't wait to see your finished product. There is a house not far from here that goes all out each year. Everyone wonders what new idea they will come up with next.

Bet ya didn’t know you could turn a strand of candy cane lights into little palm trees either did ya? (See pics) Target has really cute Sea Lions if you are interested; they are the little ones next to the Sunman in our yard. Here are a few pictures of our tropical “sun” scene…However, if it keeps getting as cold as it is at night, I might just have to go with a snow scene. Burrrrrrrrrrr. Unfortunately, the pictures don’t do it justice; I never could take a good nighttime shot.

Wow! If only I had your energy! I would love to decorate my house like that, but there is no way that Im getting on the roof to hang lights, and I know my hubby isnt either! Your house and yard look beautiful!

Thank You!!!!!! Fortunately, I’m tall, so no ladder needed! But check this out, last night some SOB stole my Santa in the hammock, right next to the house, I am LIVID!!! And did my little Surfie even muster up a bark, NO! If Santa shows up in someone’s yard all hell is going to break loose, as I didn’t buy him around here, and have never seen another one like him.

Your home is beautiful! I love the creative ideas -- candy cane palm trees -- who woulda thunk? I love the lighted seals but I NEED that penguin! LOL! I will have to go on the hunt and see what is left in the stores. I am still on crutches right now so our decorating is running a bit late. I may try to direct DH and son this weekend.

I was so sorry to hear someone stold your Santa! That is evil -- how can they possibly enjoy it knowing they stole it? One year someone stold our programmable lights right off the bushes. That ruined our mood for a few days but we decided not to let it spoil our season. Hope you find your Santa.

i love your decorations, the palm trees made with candy canes are so cute....
and santa in the hammock too cute....
I would love to do a drive by to see it but i am in Pa lol

Wow! Your lights are awesome and I bet you get lots of passers by to see your beautiful display! From what I could see in the dark, your landscaping looks beautiful too!

I'm so sorry Santa in the hammock was stolen. I have never seen one of them before and how cute was that? I hope you get him back! It's such a shame that you can't put on a beautiful show of lights without getting something stolen. I once had lights stolen off my house and I replaced them, but hooked some things to them that would pop loud if someone tried to take them. I thought it would be so funny for this thief to get scared out of his pants. He didn't come back though and I was so disppointed!

just when you think people would be nice for the holiday season ... something cruel like this happens ....

and Santa was so cute! However, your home looks fantastic and welcoming ...
