Who cooks the Thanksgiving meal? I don't cook on Thanksgiving, but I do cook on Christmas. My mother in law and I agreed to do it that way so it is fair for the both of us. We don't have a big family, so is only my in laws, hubby and me and the furbabies theirs and ours. |
I cook Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. now I'm hungry thinking about it lol |
i'm thankful i don't have to cook! my mom cooks. thank goodness. i work in transportation and thanksgiving and xmas week are the busiest and most stressful weeks of the year for me. plus - gutting out a bird and stuffing it makes me want to puke:rolleyes: |
we cook sometimes for thanksgiving or we go to a friends house for christmas my inlaws come and i cook every thing or most every thing but my mother in law always makes a big breakfast i cant wait i love the food turkey and ham stuffing wow i do not stuff my bird cause im scared it will not get done in the bird |
I cook the main dishes on both Thanksgiving & Christmas. The rest of my family bring the side dishes and drinks. I didn't realize, that when we had our house built - it would be the center of our family gatherings :rollingey (and we have an extra LARGE family/extended family). |
I work. :( |
lately it's been me since my folks moved to Texas. Both my step sisters, for whatever reason, aren't keen on having people in their house. (It messes them up). It usually just ends up me and/or me and the girls if they aren't at their dads. |

last yr I did and x-mas too! I had soo much food left over!! it was not even funny!! This Thanksgiving, we are going to my husbands boss house, to have it.... But I am still going to cook a small thanksgiving for us the day before! I LOVE left over turkey! |
I used to cook or help cook both when parents and aunts, uncles were all living. Now, there is no one except my husband, two kids and two grands so we let Ryan's do the Thanksgiving. They have a buffet that day that is to die for. At least here it is. Also it is too close to Christmas for me and the meals are basically the same. Sooo, we have our family Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve. The grands are with their mother Christmas Day. They are with us Thanksgiving tho and Christmas Eve. |
My mom and i both cook and then on my husbands side, we all carry in a dish. |
I cooked the Thanksgiving Dinner last year and will again this year for hubby's side of the family. We lost my FIL a year ago, last July and my MIL is in a nursing home. We bring her to our house and most of hubby's brothers and sisters come home. On Christmas, we stay here and just have a ham or pork loin roast. Something light and easy. |
"mother in law" cooks here, and i do the baking :) |
This is the first year in my 54 years that my Mother will not be cooking and having it at their house. I had to move them to a ittle apartment near me last January so this will be the first time for our family to not go to the house we lall grew up in. My 21 year old dtr said do you think we could borrow Nana's old house for Thanksgiving and Christmas!!! So I have to do it and I have never cooked for anyone except my dtr, husband and me so I am a wreck! |
My whole family helps cook. Both my aunts and my grandma when we're at my dad's on Christmas day. We each take a part. I love cooking the turkey, so I do that. When I'm at my mom's, everyone pitches in also. My mom and I do most, but my brother and step-dad also help. It actually makes it a lot of fun when everyone does their part! The part I hate is cleaning up. I would cook everything if it meant I didn't have to clean after dinner! |
