I might know why I lost my job
 

I was talking to my friend today, who works where I recently got laid off. We got laid off together the first time, then we both went to another location. So today she was telling me that the supervisors assistant made some pretty unecessary comments about me, one being how she doesn't know what she would do if I was still there, and the other being how she doesn't like people who act like they know what their doing, then mess up and ask for help! I NEVER acted over-confident in what I was doing. I asked necessary questions because I was new and didn't want to mess up, but wasn't clueless about what was going on. There was one mistake I made, but I fixed it and admitted to it. Isn't everyone entitled to mistakes? I know I wasn't the only one there who made a mistake. And it was only ONCE! Plus, far worse mistakes were made then my little one. Also, this lady, you couldn't ask her anything twice...even if you were unsure! Since we would have FDA audits, everything had to be documented and procedures had to be strictly followed. If I had any second questions, I would ask, but this lady would get mad! I mean if you're unclear shouldn't you ask? Well that's what I always did. It just really got to me how she said I acted like I knew everything when I didn't act like that at all.

I'm so upset over this. Literally my stomach is aching. I don't know if I can prove anything though. When I asked my boss why I was being let go, she said because the project was cancelled and they had to cut down on people. I asked if it was anything I did, and she said that it wasn't! :mad: :mad: :mad:

I too have been on the sucky end of a lay off...hold tight girl!! Can you file for your un-employment?? I got lucky...when I filed, she contested it and I had to make $1,800.00 b/f I could draw. Well....a temp job came up at our local Courthouse, so I took it. 4 mths later, it was over...and I got to draw my money!!! Hubby said I could stay at home with my 2 girls, so I am taking him up on it!! Not to mention, I get to spend all but 1 check...it helps pay the house!! Keep your chin up...I will be praying for you!!

Thank you! I did file for the unemployement, but it's really not much. I was supposed to get a check this week, but instead I got a letter saying I was declined!!! :mad:

I called unemployement and she was liek "oh your a student.." and asked me if I met with someone since I'm a student. I didnt. When I went to file I told the guy I was a student and he had me fill something out, but not meet with anyone. So I guess theres a confusion with that. The lady is supposed to call me back and let me know. I hope I get it. Job searching isn't going to well either.

that sucks ! It's bad enough to be laid off but having them discuss you makes it so much worse - if you were laid off due to cutbacks - you are entitled to un-employment ! When I got laid off I received it for like 6 months - it was during the time they were extending it for everyone.....FIGHT IT !!! You were laid off and they told you why- that entitles you to collect and at least have something coming in...

Yeah but it being through a temp agency, it's a little more difficult. I am keeping in contact with the agency though and do got something for like 2.5days next week, atleast it will help a little bit.

It's just that hearing this upsets me soo much! Especially when that was a job I was actually interested in, and dedicated myself to it. Most of my other jobs was like OK, go to work to get the paycheck and that's it. Finally found something I liked doing (not for my whole life, but just until I'm done w/ my degree) and this crap happens. And people wonder why I don't think I'm meant to work :p

My daughter quit her job for just about the same reason. she asked a question so her boss told her that she needed to go back to just observing if she needed to ask questions.

Yeah, especially when your working on protocols for devices used for saving lifes!!! When your new somewhere you get soo much info at once, it's kinda hard to take it all in. I never had a previous employer get mad at me for asking, only this b***h

Uh yeah!! I worked for a wonderful surgeon and his doctor wife. He would tell you...If you don't ask questions...i cant help you. They moved, so practice closed...dang...I miss that job!!

The job I was fired from was like that...you know...you are supposed to be perfect by the second month...hello!!!! Not always!!!!!

I will keep you in my thoughts...I totally feel for you!
