oh sweetie - I don't know how to help but found these links - and you have all my prayers....I hope they can treat her... if they caught it before it destroys her red blood cells - it sounds like they CAN treat this...from what I just read - a big threat is blood clots :( poor baby ....Sorry for the links but they all have different information and I figured you may need them all to read... http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/ this is very good information about it - http://www.vetinfo.com/dencyclopedia/deimha.html http://www.labbies.com/aiha.htm http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_imha.html |
http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/newhope.htm I am so very sorry you are facing this tragedy. Here is a website that has tons of info. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Sending hugs to your family :ghug: |
So sorry to hear! Can't offer any advice... but you are in my thoughts and prayers. Best wishes to you and your family. |
I was so hoping that there would be a good report for little Trixie! I know your mil must be devastated. Please let her know that we are praying for Trixie and her! |
Thanks for the links I did read them. My hubby just told me that her eyes are bright if that has anything to do with it. The vet said they had to watch her red blood cells that if it drops one or two that's o.k BUT IF IT DROPS 5 THEN THERE'S NO HOPE:( :( :( , We will know tomorrow about the blood ct. In one of the links it said should show impovment 1-3 days if caught in time. They know that all my friends on YT are praying for them. My hubby has already told them and he said that we could find some answers here. I'm ccrying now thanks everyone. Have to wait until tomorrow :( |
I always look at my girls eyes to see how they look IF I think they're sick - but I don't know if that has anything to do with this disorder.... We lost my husbands cocker to something that sounds like this - she had hardly any symptoms the day before ..We thought she just had a tummy upset cause that was the only thing she displayed - she was a little lethargic but not enough to alarm my husband to get her to a vet....till the next day - When we woke up and checked on her - her gums had turned white overnight ... and her eyes were BRIGHT White to the point of scaring me - We rushed her to the Vet (of course on a Sunday but our vet is great and met us there)- and she was too far gone - I never knew what it was ....She was 16 years old... THIS PAGE HAS GOOD INFORMATION regarding treatment- http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/treatment.htm and then there are sucess stories here - http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/successstories.htm you may want to read them to see the different treatments they talk about - This is the kind of thing I'd want to read if I were dealing with an illness like this - and ALL THE BEST TO YOUR FAMILY Ellen !! I hope they can save her.... |
Ellen - i wanted to add something for your husband ...I THINK (based on what myhusbands dog Princess looked like when she got sick) - that in this case - bright eyes are not good..... if a dog is anemic and the eyes are bright white - that means the blood vessles shenormally has in the white of her eyes isn't visible - I don't want to scare you and could be wrong - but that was the FIRST Thing I noticed when we woke up and looked at my husbands cocker...she looked at me and I really was shocked at how very white the eyes were and cockers normally have those sad kind of bloodshot eyes you know ?? so if your hubby is thinking bright eyes is a sign of improvement - tell them to ask the vet about this because I think it has more to do with being very low on red blood cells - and NOT a good sign.... I'm sorry - I just wanted to offer anything I can....and hate to sound like the voice of doom.... |
I don't know V my mind has just shut down I can't tell my hubby that he would worry sick about his mom he's the only boy and he takes care of almost everything for his mom since his dad died. I just don't know what to do next. |
Just keep praying, honey. You are there for them & they know that. I am joining my prayers with yours for a complete recovery. |
