My Message To Russ Limbaugh ( This is a message, which I copied and will paste here, I sent to the news station on television regarding the following comments made by Russ Limbaugh.) Russ LImbaugh comments on Michael J. Fox were DISGUSTING I just saw on tv where Russ Limbaugh was commenting regarding Michael J. Fox's Parkinsons Disease, that was down right disgusting. My husband has Parkinsons now for eight years and it is heart wretching. I pray that one day the American people will say enough is enough. Lets spend our hard earned tax dollors to find cures or better treatment for these devastating diseases instead of wasting it on other things that matter not. My heart goes out to Michael J. Fox in gratitude for his making such effort in doing what he can to help bring this about, I know that it is only with the Lord supplying Michael with the strength that he is able to be speaking and going to the limits that he is in trying to help Parkinsons, Alzheimers, Multiple Sclerosis, and all others suffering from devastating neurological diseases. I can only say to Russ Limbaugh be careful of what you say, I have heard this saying so many times through my so many years of life, "WHAT GOES AROUND OFTEN COMES AROUND." God Bless Michael J. Fox, " thank you Lord for supplying Micahel with the energy and strength to go out and speak on behalf of the many many americans and others through out the world suffering from this and other neurological diseases, to hopefully one day find a cure or better treatment." Thanks to those taking time to read this please keep praying for a cure for this disease, and also for those suffering from this and other afflictions. Kind Regards, Patti |
I agree with you 100% - whatever Mike Fox did to get attention is GREAT our country needs to pay NO attention to people like RL - he's just a freak with a big mouth. Our health care SUCKS ! Both for Seniors and people with life threatening disabilities - Michale Fox is a lucky one - he has the funds to get top notch treatment but what about the others out there ?? I know how bad it is first hand - and always feel so bad for others who are going thru it. The medications for some of these illnesses are so costly that in many cases... people need to choose between something they need to LIVE and EATING ???? WHAT IS THAT ?????? |

Medicines are soo expensive! People are dying because they can't afford the medicines they need. It's soo terrible :( Back on topic, what did Russ Limbaug say? I missed this |
I agree with you Patti. How terrible for him to go after such a wondeful person afflicted with a terrible disease. You and Jack are in my prayers. |
Prayers for Patti & Husband You are so right. It is amazing to me that we live in the richest, most powerful country in the world and every citizen cannot have health care. I love whoever was making a case for every American being entitled to the same health care as Congress for the same premium. Sounds fair to me:) |
You and your husband is in my prayers may god bless you both. That Russ Limbauh man need his mouth sew together, cause he never says anything nice, but he did say he was sorry for the remark about Michael Fox (yeah right) |
I agree with you. I felt so bad when I saw Michael on tv. What right does anyone have to critisize what pain someone else is feeling!? He should keep his mouth off of him. I will be thinking of your husband. I did not even know about that horrible disease until Michael became their spokesman. This might be from left field, but I think it pertains to it. Does anyone else think that the US is hypocritical? I am going to try to be as neutral as possible for the moment. Our country allows abortion, which is the killing of of a fetus. But we won't allow stem cell research because it is the act of killing a fetus. |
Yep - Rush Limbaugh needs to shut his fat trap!!!!! :thumbdown |
Rush Limbaugh shouldn't have criticized Michael J. Fox. I am not backing him up in any way. HOWEVER.... I think that there is a misconception about stem cell research though. Stem cell research is legal its just not funded by our tax money. Embryonic stem cell is illegal, as it should be, there is no reason to kill fetus for stem cell, adult stem cell can accomplish same thing. I don't mean to offend anyone here, but I believe people are under the impression that stem cell research is currently illegal, it isn't. |

You need to do a little more research. they need immature stems cells which can only be obtainbed from fetuses. and no one is advocating deliberately aborting babies for this purpose, they jsut want to use the fetuses that are being aborted anyway. If we use these fetuses at least those poor babies would not have been conceived and died in vain. I'm not looking for an argument on this, but I have personally researched it. So don't come back at me unless you have facts and are able to document them. |

Hes a big fat puke. And now the whole world knows it. |
Wasn't looking for a fight Quote:
good grief |
what is the difference between--- Rush Limbaugh and the Hindenburg? Answer: One is a big bag of hot air, and the other is a dirigible. :lol tears |

And some are advocating killing the life they create in the lab just for the purpose of harvesting stem cells. Large numbers of embryonic stem cells can be grown in culture and harvested when they are just a few days old -- these are Pluripotent stem cells. They also are wanting to use embryos that have been "on ice" and are no longer wanted for implanting. They can also harvest the pluripotent stems cells from fetal tissue over 8 weeks old. Adult stem cells are now used too -- bone marrow transplants are transferring human stem cells and this has been done for years. These adult stem cells are used to treat lukemia and lymphoma among others. But the adult stem cells may not be pluripotent as the embryonic stem cells would be -- in other words, embryonic stems cells can develop into any cell type whereas the adult stem cells may have limited cell types they can grow into. The adult stem cells do have an advantage though because a patient can have their own stem cells grown in culture and then put back in, without the risk of rejection. There are so many facets to the question of stem cell research -- which is still legal, just restricted -- and the information is changing all the time as new research makes discoveries. It is difficult not to have some ethical concerns but at the same time who can turn their back on potential life-saving science? It is very exciting, interesting and just a little frightening all at the same time. I think taking it slow and keeping all life in balance will take some brilliant minds and caring hearts. I hope they make the most of cord blood and placental tissue for their stem cell sources. |
Fertilized Eggs?? Quote:
I could be wrong BUT, I think that the stem cells needed come from fertilized eggs like those used for invitrol fertilization. The ones used for research are those that would otherwise have been discarded. I heard one political type the other day say, when told that these would otherwise be discarded and asked what should be done with them, he said they should be adopted. In some cases there are laws that prevent this. So should they be flushed or thrown out like so much garbage? Why isn't possibly saving someone else's life a more noble use? |

It is a huge subject with many different possible ramifications. Some of the delay to consider all aspects of the research has forced scientists into other avenues such as: Stem cells are now being harvested from embryonic cells that have stopped dividing/considered dead. Another method now being pursued with some success is the biopsy of a few cells from a living embryo WITHOUT ending the embryos life. This is now being done for genetic testing and has the potential to also provide stem cells, while the original embryo goes on living and develops to a healthy child. With both of these ideas, the ethical question of ending the embryonic life is removed. While other questions may still remain, at least there are other possibilities being explored. I am not even going to say where my personal opinions lie, just that the subject is much more detailed than a politician from either side would try to relay in their public words. Stem cell research is taking many different paths -- if the ultimate practice winds up not ending any life at all -- wouldn't that be wonderful, a win win situation. |
I don't think this was meant to be a discussion on stem cells...whether pro or con that particular type of research. Patti needs our support and prayers right now. Neurological diseases can hit any one at any time. Boom. Not much warning. The life that you once had which was quite 'normal' in every sense of the word is now totally changed. Gone. Rush is fortunate that he still maintains his health. He should thank his lucky stars. How sad that he feels the need to attack someone who has absolutely no control over the changes that his body is going through. How dare he. Neurological diseases can hit any one. I know that first hand. I pray that research for diseases like this become more of a priority to those who hold the purse strings of ALL of our nations. Health care for all is one thing, but research into the diseases that take the lives of more and more people each year needs to be brought into the forefront of our consciousness. It's because of people like MJ Fox that parkinsons is now understood a little better....he's used his fame and money for something so very important...something that helps so many. God bless you and Jack, Patti. Topher, the kids, Cal and I send our love to you both...and to little Baby Blessing. You are so dear to us. |
I agree with you!!! I was just sick to my stomach when I seen him make the comment about Micheal J. Fox. Micheal has done so much, I think he was helped make people aware of Parkinsons and has helped in the fight. How dare Russ make such a comments. After all this is coming from a man for was addicted to pain meds. He isnt half that Michael is. He can't even deal with any pain and people with Parkinsons deal with it on a daily basis and have much more to deal with then this man ever thought possible. I guess when all said and done, God will be the judge!!! |
I guess we need to pray for stupid people. LOL |

Sorry, I won't pray for that sorry excuse of a man. :thumbdown |

Thank you Val, exactly what I was trying to say regarding research, be it stem cell research or what ever, the need is soooooo great in search for a cure of combating Neurological diseases. My comment relating to that of Russ Limbaugh was his imitating the debilitating shaking and tremor effect of the disease of Parkinsons that has taken hold of Michael J. Fox. It is ever so heart wretching to watch helplessly to what a loved one is going through regarding this disease, patients taking Parkinsons meds they sometimes help a little and then sometimes they don't, when the meds have to be changed to another drug, the person has to come off the first med before he/she can start the other and the withdrawl is horrible. Jack's Dr. has said so many times how he wishes there was a magic pill to help him. Parkinsons has so many down sides to this disease, weakness, falling, the tremor and shaking, swallowing, speech failure, feeding oneself, dressing oneself, inability to walk, inability to move because the body freezes--- just plain can't move--- and one wants to believe that is it ---but it isn't, the deteriation of ones body continues on, it can progress to the point of one being totally bedfast and just existing. My comment in reference to that of Russ Limbaugh was that to immitate the shaking and tremors effect of the disease regarding Michael, and make such as he did, was so disgusting, and yes I do pray for Russ Limbaugh, in my belief or Faith being that God loved each of us so much,he gave his SON for each of us, he doesn't want to loose one of us. Life is not all of what we get out of it but what we put into it, I for one feel the need to be speaking out and doing whatever to help the cause for a cure for all neurological diseases. So much could be done to find cures for these diseases. I would encourage anyone that reads this to please write to your government officials ask that more be done, to reach a goal in conquering a cure for all these devastating neurological diseases. I have had a hard time dealing with loosing Jack to this disease and quite frankly it has really torn me up, but with God's strength, he will help me each step along the way, I just gotta keep leaning on him. Thanks to each of you for your prayers, we are so grateful for the caring and loving friends we have come to know here at YT, you are very special people. Patti and Jack |
Well said, Patti. Today being Halloween...well, it used to be such a fun day at our house. I used to go all out for the kids. I cried today 'cause I couldn't give my kids a mom who was into Halloween anymore...I could only just give them a mom with M.S. who was too weak and tired to even help them get their costumes together. It just sucks. |

Sweet Patti....what would I do without you? You always have a way with words to make me feel better....always. I think God had a hand in bringing you into my life. What a gift you've been to me. My kids had a great time and son wanted to share his candy with me :) He even picked out the kind I like and set it aside for me. What a doll he is. Thanks again, friend. Sometimes I just get feeling sorry for myself and I have to just realize how very lucky I am to have the life I have. Aside from the MS, life is pretty darned good :) |
