Jeff Dane emails
 

I know some of you have received emails from Jeff Dane, but I have received none. I guess he does not have my email address and I would rather him not have it, so I will post this here....I have yet to be served papers on this so called lawsuit, however I have decided to go ahead and retain council. Jeff Dane will be receiving a certified letter from my lawfirm early next week. Once his council sees who is representing me I am sure all of this will be dropped. I want him to know this is not a personal attack. I just feel as if I have been treated unfairly by him. I DO NOT like the fact that I am at the "top of his list". Nor do I like him trying to scare us with these emails. Like I said, I have yet to hear anything about this lawsuit personally, but believe me I am well prepared. He really doesn't know who I am, or none of this would be happening. Thats all I have to say.

But when the subject comes up & I see it of feel I can add something of value - - yes I share what I do know from people who have dealt personally with him - it's no different than me sharing my 2 breeder experiences in Texas - nothing personal - just a heads up.....

What good are these sites if we can't read the many DIFFERENT opinions on them ???

I think I'm singled out because I live in Texas but to tell you the truth - I could care less about him AND his website - I've never thought anyone could shut him down & have never said that - I just offer my opinions based on the many posts by people that bought from him - many I've spoken to personally -

as much as I think his site is distastful and he's become a rich man due to mass breeding - I'm sure he covers all his bases - but we can post our opinions freely - that's OUR right and we shouldn't have threats of lawsuits when we speak up.

I've seen someone else just like him on the net - The people who squeal lawsuits everytime they don't like something are the ones I think need to look in the mirror about WHY people discuss them so much. I posted this for the other E-lawyer - and here it is again - copied from a website that discussed people who scream lawsuit for every little thing they see.

If I had a buck for every one who has threatened to sue me, I'd be rich.

Lawyers will only sue, if the know they can win, and if the know the person has enough assets to sue for.

They don't like to loose. And big guys sueing little guys is rarely profitable.

Ok guys I just got off the phone with my attorney, Wick Phillips LLP. (go google search that jeff dane!) They mostly handle fortune 500 companies, but since I have the hookup....they are helping me! :) According to my attorney, Jeff Dane does not have much of a case against me, or any of us for that matter. The burden of proof is on him, and I think he would rather not get himself into that situation! Everything I said in my post is true to the best of my memory. I refuse to back down. My attorney did say however I do have a good case against him. He misrepresented the dog he sold me. I could sue him, but I am going to wait and see how far he goes with this. Like I said before, I have yet to be served any papers, and I believe the best lawsuit is no lawsuit. So...come and get me! I am ready! Whatever happens, you can't unring a bell. My thread has already been viewed over 4,000 times. If I can help one person, I feel accomplished.

That's awesome!! I had a feeling that's what your attorney would say (because I work for a high end class action litigation law firm) and I asked one of my bosses about this. YOU ROCK!! :thumbup:

I've actually had people I've never met other than online become so obsessed with me that they tried to track down personal info on me from my high school that I graduated from 10 yrs ago!:eek: Lol...I just hate that I don't have some juicy skeleton in my closet for them to amuse themselves with.:D

I feel the same way - I've posted here and there about him & I get asked alot about his site (probably cause we're both in Texas) I just tell people do search his name - they'll learn all they need to know there - and none good.

I love the 'unrung bell' comment ...I feel the same as you - - I can take the heat and hope it DID help just one person - if it has ...then it's worth it to me too.

and I hope you DO persue your problem you have with him...and all the best to you - If I were him I'd start worrying cause it sure sounds like the Shoe is on the other foot. His threats didn't scare me ....but people should really have their facts straight before they start screaming lawsuit - just like you're doing - and you go girl !

oh and Bama - that's INSANE what I just read... and I believe you. There are some people out there who are just obsessed ...too bad they don't put their energy into helping people instead of butting into others lives where they don't belong

Ya, I don't believe Jeff Dane wants his reputation drug into court. He's all bluff. He doesn't wnat any more negative attention then he is already getting.

I just saw this on another website today. I thought I would pass it on.


"The California Supreme Court ruled Monday that bloggers and participants in Internet bulletin board groups cannot be sued for posting defamatory statements made by others.
In deciding a case closely watched by free speech groups, the court said a federal law gives immunity from libel suits not only to Internet service providers, like AOL, but also to bloggers and other users of their services."

It seems like the key word is "by others" - the ruling doesn't give an individual the right to defame someone, but it appears to extend ISP protection to bloggers, forum operators, etc. It will be interesting to see what in-depth analysis of the decision reveals.
