driving nightmare last night me my b/f and lexi were coming home from a friends house. we were in his corvettte and he was doing around 70 mph in the left lane on the parkway when a raccoon deceided to try and cross the street. well i saw something running real quick and so did my b/f, but this big thing just ran outta nowhere and wound up under the tire on my side...omg!!! i friggin freaked out. all you heard was a huge thump and i felt it bad cause in those cars, you are so so low to the ground... there was no way my b/f could have stopped, we just were cruising... he said oh god he's dead.. we stopped at a gas station where there was lights, cause it was night time, he got out of the car to see if there was damage, well this thing whater it was ripped the plate right off the car and is now gone and also totalled the who front panel fender of the vet.. my b/f is pissed now,, damages around 1500 or more.... i just had to keep my mouth shut, this vet is his other girlfriend, his pride and joy...... i didnt talk the whole night.... sick huh. that poor raccoon.. i still hear the thump noise... |
Oh how sad! I hit an opossum once on the way home from a Pearl Jam concert. I cried the whole 3 hour ride home!!! The poor thing looked right at me before I hit him (I was going about 80!). :( :( :( Good thing you guys weren't hurt! |
Aw :( Poor racoon, and that bill is going to suck! I hit a possom too, and bawled my eyes out. It also looked at me before I hit him. He stopped, I stopped, he backed away, I went, and he ran and THUMP THUMP! :( |
aww I'm so sorry that's sad and I feel bad for your boyfriend! that's a lot of money! (enough for a yorkie) |
That stinks!! I would feel bad too. I know how expensive it is to fix corvettes. My husband has one and that fiberglass work is ridiculous. Hope you week gets better. |
 i once hit a skunk in my rx-7 and drug it home. my car smelled forever. |
Oh I'm so sorry! That is so traumatic ... on lots of counts! You are a perfect girlfriend. So sorry to hear it! |
I am the person driving who, if you happen to see me, will be weavin' and bobbin' all over the road to miss wooly bears and frogs! I hit a chipmunk one time, stopped, picked it up, and drove around with it in my car the rest of the day. There wasn't a mark on it so I guess I was praying it was just stunned and would come to. It finally became pretty obvious that it was definitely NOT going to come to so I took it home and put it in a little box and burried it. God help me if I hit a deer or something. Actually, I did hit a deer once - foggy evening, doe jumps off bank in front of me with fawn right behind it, doe made it but the fawn hesitated so I put my hand over my eyes and slammed on the brakes, heard a little thud as I came to a stop, peeked thru my fingers and the fawn was rolling up the road in front of me. I was just about to start crying when the little bitty thing lifted it's head, shook it a couple times, wobbled around till it got upright, then hopped off toward it's mother. Now I always watch for eyes, and drive very slow where I know wildlife is about. We live in rural America, so there's alot of critters wandering along the roads. So sorry about the vett. In some states, deer claims are covered and don't raise the premiums. He should check with his ins. co. |
I dont even want to imagine the sound. |
