Real Beauty? Here is a link to Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty... they show a video of how they can turn an ordinary woman into a billboard model... No wonder our vision of beauty is distorted - it has to be with all of this photoshopping around us. Its hard to tell whats real anymore. http://www.campaignforrealbeauty.com...olution_v2.swf |

I agree....WOW! |
WOW!!!!!!! |
WOW IS RIGHT ! Amazing. I need to learn how to do that with MY pictures NOT ! it is SO hard to be a woman with all the glitz and surgery around us now - it's like no one has their own lips or boobs anymore ....take a young girl with expectations of becoming pretty - and that's all gone for them - they can BUY it now - That's what they're exposed to - it's no wonder our kids are doing wilder and wilder things at younger ages. What are these girls going to look like at age 35 or 40 ?? With the multiple surgeries people are getting done on themselves ..I hate to think of what happens when the bod starts to go. |
Well, there goes to show you, no ones perfect. Wow. |

It makes it so very important what message mothers send to their young daughters. If they believe their whole worth is in their looks, they are going to be in big trouble sometime. But mothers can give that message when they focus on how they look more than who they are. They see our examples not only in what we say but more in what we wear and trying every fad diet or new drug that comes out to lose weight. It is not unusual at all to see toddlers having their hair highlighted & permed. When the parents do that, they are teaching those precious little girls that they aren't good enough as God made them. Heaven only know what message they are receiving when their parents buy them the little sexy outfits to wear, high heels & such even in elementary school. We are absolutely robbing them of their childhood. I also think that is what makes them insensitive to those who don't share their looks or body shape or youth. Oops there I go again.:( |
My girlfriend's daughter is 11 and already worried about weight and beauty and continuously says "i'm fat" or "I'm not pretty" My 17 year old daughter tries to talk to her all the time about loving herself, etc., but it's so scary. I'm so proud of my daughter who has always loved herself for who she is...when she's sitting quietly talking to the 11 year old about 'truly' loving herself, well, that's when I've been the proudest I've ever been as a mom. Many girls growing up today don't know what it really means to love themselves...they equate how they look to their self esteem and it's so sad. Excellent video..thanks for sharing! |
Wow!!!! |
This is slightly on topic with the thread... I did print work for a little bit, and it is amazing what a editor can do to blemishes, waist size, height ect... And the proof (un-touched picture) that gets marked up is what's scary. All the notes, **Thick thighs, wide nose, red spots, bags, wrinkles (I was 22!!)***Complete with circles in red to hi-lite the "problem areas". They took all my moles out of the picture and thought I'd be thrilled, but I wasn't, that wasn't me. I'm not a moley person, but the ones I have add character. They've also moved my belly-button and taken it out completely. It can be depressing to say the least and your the model, your supposed to be hot! On the bright side, I discovered Adobe Photoshop, and have learned to remove pimples and temporary blemishes (smudged make-up). My friends made fun of me because I'd do them if they were in the picture too. I just figured, 1. Pimples aren't forever, pictures are forever, why remember that zit that had it's own zip code. 2. It would have been rude to not fix their pimple and do mine. |
This website really amazes me. Roll your mouse on and off and you will see the before and after pictures. All these actors and actresses we see are not what they appear to be in print. http://homepage.mac.com/gapodaca/dig...i/bikini2.html or this one http://homepage.mac.com/gapodaca/dig...e/blonde1.html |

My goodness!!! Someone take a picture of me and do that! LOL! |
Dr Phil had something like this on his show not long ago, He showed some young girls what hollywood women really look like without all the make up and the clothes. He said (so do I ) that beuty comes from within.Love yourself the way God made you. |
