What happens if your dog sees you on the computer too much 1 Attachment(s) Hahahah! |
I hope this hasn't happend to you fasteddie |
 Toto doesn't mind .... as long as she is snuggling in my lap!! Usually if she gets really tired of it, she will sit up and gaze into my eyes!! I know that's the signal ... I want your attention!!! I sign off and give her what she wants, of course!!! ;) |
HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA! Now THAT'S a Kodak moment! My computer is downstairs (where Pippin can't get because of a baby gate) because I don't want him near the wires since he likes to 'chew'. |
I guess I am lucky because Tish never chewed on anything but her toys. I still worry about the cords though also. If I am on the computer to long and do not pay attention to her she would have all her toys around me. I guess that would be a sign :p |
Yoda is usually right next to me when I'm on YorkieTalk... At the moment, he's laying on the couch about 2 feet from me and watching TV and napping. :) |
 fasteddie! Two feet away from you?? Sounds like heaven to me! Toto won't even let me shower unless she is right next to it! She patiently waits and even tries to lick my feet dry!! :p She has been even worse since Papa is in Colorado! I rolled his desk chair right next to mine, put one of her little beds with a favorite blankie on it ... she will have no part of it! She just looks at me with her black button pleading eyes saying "Up - Up"!! :) So ... being "tough" ... I sometimes make her wait until I finish typing a sentence before I put her on my lap!! Wouldn't want her to pack her "Gone to Grandma's" bag!!! ;) |
That picture made my day! Toooooo funny! When I'm on the computer, Higgins brings me toys, then gives me a "YO, Momma!" bark so I'll notice him. I then tell him that I am busy and I don't like his "Yo Mommas" and to go ask his daddy to play. That is good for about 3 minutes of peace until Don has gone through the routine. Then Higgins comes back and silently SITS UP and begs and stares at me. It works every time. I then toss whatever he wants to fetch a few times and then tell him I have to go back to my "work" and I'm good to go for another five minutes while he is working on Don. :D |
Heheheh, the tag-team approach, eh, Higgon's Mom? Usually Yoda tries this a few times, then he'll plop down somewhere for some real action when we can't play with him at that second. |
lol i love it. missy stands by my chair tioll i pick her up bobo gets on a small bed in puter room and lays down. |
ugh. my baby boy is attached to me. just like you bettyeanne he sits right outside the shower and waits till i get out and licks my feet. he never leaves my side. i sometimes wonder what he thinks when he sits next to me staring at me while im on the computer. but when he sits there for more then 5 minutes i get up and play with him. or i pick him up and he falls asleep on my lap, after chewing on the desk of course. lol someone told me to put tabasco sauce on the parts where he chews. is that crazy or no? |
Yikes, that seems a bit mean, I haven't heard of Tabasco sauce, jennifermarie, but there is some Apple (forgot the exact brand) spray which you can spra on areas you don't want them to chew on. It's worked pretty well for my Yoda and isn't harmful to them at all, which I'm not sure Tabasco sauce would be safe. |
I have heard of Tabasco sauce being put on furniture to prevent chewing. I even tried with my English Setters, who are notorious chewers all their lives. You know what? They LOVED Tabasco sauce! Sigh. Frankly, I think Tabasco is too strong for little Yorkies and you ought to try the bitter apple concoction if he is stubborn about chewing things. HOWEVER, the best way is just to train them not to chew your things by stopping them when they do, say "no chewing", and hand them one of THEIR toys with a smile. I have never let Higgins "puppy chew" my hands and fingers, either. I just said "No biting, just kisses" and would take my hand away and/or put him down. Since he wanted to be on my lap, he soon learned not to bite the hand that pets him! Don likes to play rougher with him and has always let Higgins chew him up. But Higgins knows not to try it with me. On some site that talked about training (my memory is the pits), they said that when the pup did something he shouldn't, that all play should STOP immediately. We just say "no" and put Higgins down, or stop the game, or go on about our business, and we DON'T pay any attention to him. Yorkies just HAVE to have your attention, so they will do anything to get it. We have been trying to reward Higgins with lots of attention when he is good and withold attention when he is not good. It really works quite well. Higgins would like attention FULL-TIME, thank you, so we do tell him when we don't want to play. That is starting to work. It helps if we pat him and reassure him and then firmly put him down or in our lap and go back to what we are doing. |
That is just to cute. Charlie sleep or looks out the window when I am on the computer. I have a wicker chair behind my computer. |
Tish learnt the meaning of the words ALL DONE. I started using it as soon as I got her. When we would play or practice her tricks at the end I would hold my hands out for her to sniff and say all done. She would just walk away then. When she gets all excited and wants me to chase her again I would say all done and she would give up. The words have come very handy for alot of situations with her. |
