Knee Surgery Hurts Like Heck! Hi everyone! The knee surgery went well yesterday. Of course, I feel like someone has tried to twist the bottom half of my leg off today! Miss Lexy Marie Ensor is a fantastic nurse though! Her poochie-smoochies make everything all better! Thanks for the prayers! Elizabeth |
So glad to hear everything went well Elizabeth!!! That's great news! It's amazing how our little babies can always make us feel better:) Gosh, I hope you aren't in too much pain! I've heard that anything to do with your knees really hurts! Hoping you have a SPEEDY recovery!!! :) |
I hope you have a speedy recovery! I'm glad your kneee surgery went well! and isn't cute how our furbabies always know how to makes us happy? :getwellso  |
I am so glad to hear your surgery went well! Follow your docs orders! Snuggle your furbaby and get better. Hope you're fully recovered soon! ;) |
I remember my arthroscopic knee surgeries. They hurt a LOT. But can you imagine how it would have felt before they did arthroscopy? OUCH! |
I sure hope your recovery is fast! Try to get lots of rest, I know that helps :) |
i hope your recovery is fast. i had acl reconstruction and repair on the torn meniscus in april of 2003, and i can fully sympathize with your pain. karen |
My first knee surgery was in November of 1999. I had to have the medial plica in my right knee removed (it's a tissue that cushions your kneecap). I also had to have the cartilage on the underside of my kneecap smoothed out, because my kneecap is off-center and was rubbing up against bone. My second knee surgery was in December of 2003. Again, I had to have the medial plica in my [b]left[/i] knee removed and have cartilage smoothed out. ...I'm too young to have had 2 knee surgeries that aren't sports-related! |
I'm so glad your knee surgery went well and is 100% successful! I know about knee pain...tore a ligament once and it was horrid pain! I hope yours is getting better...gladd you have your little furbaby to snuggle with! |
I'm glad that its over and your doing well. I know its hurts but God lets us forget pain. I'm glad that your yorkie baby is helping you with your recovery |
Glad your surgery went OK! Make sure you rest now and have some well deserved pampering and lots of Lexy hugs!! :D Lucy sends get well kisses :animal-sm |
I'm glad your surgery went well. I wish you a speedy recovery. |
Thank goodness your surgery went well. So glad to hear that. Now, you get a lot of rest and Schatzie and I wish you a speedy recovery! |
I had knee surgery April 2004.. I had a lateral release done and it hurt like a mother... I was a mess... My cat stayed with me the whole i i was home!! Made sure i ate and rested and didn't get up! I probably have to have my other knee done over the summer so I hope Mocha will be a good nurse.. Anyway, i hope you are feeling better elizabeth.. I'll say a quick prayer!! |
Thanks Brooke and Mocha! The lateral release is what seems to keep swelling and giving me problems. Did they remove your entire miniscus? They did mine and now they way I'll have to have a knee replacement in a few years! |
They didn't remove any of my miniscus... They had to cut the bands to make my knee cap fit in the socket properly cause it kept coming out... I have an appointment may 26 with my OS to see about my other knee.. Glad you are feeling better :-).. Mocha sneds get well licks |
So the ligaments that attach to your kneecap are what you had surgery for? I might need to have that done eventually. I will probably have my knees replaced by the time I'm 40-50! |
I had to have the miniscus removed (cartilage cushion) because it was a rare defromity and kept tearing. Also the doc "released" the tendon that goes up the outer side of the knee so my kneecap would go back to the right place. Eventually, the cartilage that is attached to the bones themselves will wear away since the miniscus is gone and I wil have to have a knee replacement at least on that side. It sucks because I'm only 47. I'm going to start on glucosamine with chondroitin to see if it will generate more cartilage, but there haven't been any real studies on it. good luck with your knees! |
Eensor, Im glad that the surgery went well. I will keep you in my prayers for a prompt recuperation. Im so glad your furbaby is helping you. |
Yeah I was 23 (24 in june, my surgery was April) when I had the surgery and I'll be 25 if I have to have the other knee done.. My problems are due in part that I was a softball catcher in high school so I was laways squating |
I can relate to the sports injuries. I have had surgery on both my knees and both my shoulders. The knee problems came for cross country, track and baseball. I feel your pain. I hope that everything goes well for ya. |

My problem is I've got to be able to walk or I just get fatter and fatter! My husband married a thin pretty woman and now he is stuck with a fat one who can't do anything! He is wonderful about it and tells me it doesn't matter, but I know it must. He is very good looking and energetic and I want to be too! |
