Long story short, and as posted in another thread, but a neighbor of mine asked if I foster an abandoned kitten. The neighbor is very allergic to cats, and she knows I have and love cats and thought I could help. She had called various shelters but none of them were willing to take the kit at only 10 days olds.

So being the kindhearted person I am, I said yes. Now those of you who have done this, know the work involved. Very time consuming. I have a full and part time job, a nine years old daughter, three cats, Bella, a chinchilla, a SO, and a home to keep. So, it's been nuts and I'm exhausted and depressed. We can't keep the kitten because we really can't afford another pet and we've run out of room.

So... I found what I thought was a great cat forum (kind of like this) and I posted a thread about how overwhelmed I am, and if anyone knew of a kitten rescue that took infant kittens, and I was BANNED!!! And I have no idea why?!? I didn't ask for money (I'd never do that!) I just explained basically everything I said above!!! :confused:

Did you back and read their posting rules. You must have broken one of their rules. But man to just Ban without any warning, that is ridiculous.

I hope you find someone to adopt the poor thing.

I did go back and read the posting rules thinking I must have commited some horrible violation (:rolleyes: ) and I honestly don't think I did. I can't re-read my post because they never allowed it to actually post.

I can't PM the mods because when I try to it says "YOU'VE BEEN BANNED!!! REASON: NONE GIVEN" :confused:

Make a new user name connected to a different email address and PM the admins!!!!

Im about an 1hr and 30mins away from you.Last summer when my mom was moving out of her house,we found 6 baby kitten's and by baby i mean they did not even have there eye's open yet.We waited for almost 2 day's and momma cat never came back so we took them to the humain society in Battle creek and they took them and placed them into foster home's till they were old enough to be adopted.All 6 of them survived.Humain society's rules and regulations change so much so often it would be worth calling more than just the one's in your town.

Wow... they banned you? Weird. Maybe they've had a problem with people joining just to sell/adopt out kittens? Who knows. Good luck finding a new home for the little guy!

I am sorry you were banned. I know what kind of work it takes. We rescued 3 squirrels 2 years ago. I had to come home form work on my breaks to feed them. It's a lot of work.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. How horrible to be banned over nothing. I know how time consuming it is. Years ago when I was a teenager I found a kitten in the woods behind our house even though it was a few weeks older it was still dependent on mom. I had to bottle feed it for a few weeks and it was very time consuming.

Try and hang in there.

I would definitely try the Humane Society they may even be able to put you in touch with someone that may foster it until it is old enough.

Check with any local vets. Lots of times, they know of people who will foster babies that people bring in to them. That's where one of my cat's came from and so did my dtr's. Good luck, I know you're doing the best you can.

They cant banned you for no reason!! I would make a diffrent SN and PM the mods and ask why!! Thats is SOO messed up!!

Hi all! Thanks for your kind words and support.

Unfortunately, I did end up having to take the kitten to the humane society yesterday evening. When I tried to feed him (although I had been successful all week) I was unable to. It kept taking too much (I even put a new nipple on) and it kept aspirating the formula. It was making a god awful wheezing sound and wouldn't stop. It was soooo scary and sad. I took it in and they said with kittens that young they euthanize them. I was bawling my eyes out and the ladies there told me it was for the best, and since it had aspirated so much it probably wouldn't make it. :(

I left it there and I can honestly say that was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. I felt like I had sentenced that poor thing to death. I've cried all night... bawled is more like it. :(

This guy there at the humane society had a box of 7 kittens around the same age as the little fella I had, and he asked what they were going to do w/them and they said they had no choice but to euthanize. Those poor little kitties all mewing and such... no chance at life. :(

As for getting banned, I will sign on w/new info because I am curious as to why I was banned.

I now understand why so many people are in support of spaying and neutering . :( :fallen:

Well you did all you could do and maybe this was the best ending for the kitten.Dont take it so hard on your self,most people wouldent of even tryed.
