Sewing Machine I saw that someone else on here was thinking about getting a sewing machine...and I have been thinking about buying one too. I can only sew straight lines....or that is all I have done in the past, anyway. (Made curtains) Well, I have gone to Craig's list and they have tons that aren't too expensive, but my question is...I saw someone recommended getting the old fashioned treadle kind...why that kind? And then I have seen some Kenmore ones and Sears ones...and a couple other brands, is there anything in particular I should look for? Thanks for any advice. |
I have had a singer, kenmore, brother, white,. They all seem about the same to me. If you are a simple seamstress only sewing clothing, I would say get a simple machine. I recently bought one at walmart it is a singer and it works ok. I'm still tring to get the bugs worked on, setting the tension and pressure foot. I would never by a machine from someone where I didn't have a return option. Machines can be very troublesome. I think a threadle machine would be harder to use. Now this is all JMO |
