This hits close to home...
 
I hate to say it, but I live only 2.9 miles away from Caval International... It is one of the few Horse Slaughter facilities left in the United States. It needs to be gone. If it weren't for this facility than maybe some of these horses would still be alive. You will understand my anger once you watch the video.
Here in IL it is illegal to transport horses in double decker trailers, why were these in a double decker trailer, and how the hell did it flip over? This pisses me off to no end. I have had horses since I was really young and it coufuses me as to why someone would want to do this to thier pet.

Thats just terrible. I hope the Humane Society is Awarded the horses and the person responsible for this get nailed.:thumbdown

What a heart breaker! That is awful! I always wondered why they kill horses and it's so people in different countries eat the meat? That is totally nuts!

I almost cried because one of those horses looked like my old TB gelding.

It wasn't tho... thankfully he is sitting comefortabley in a 13x13 stall in a very fluffy AA barn under the care of some little rich brat... *sigh*:D

OMG...I can't stop crying...that is sooo sad...:( :( :(

I had many horses when I was younger, and I can't even IMAGINE. That is just SO, SO SAD..

That was really sad.....I thought it was the Slaughterhouse videos and almost didnt watch it because those are horrible to see.....Bless their hearts-they must have been so scared....and for them to be peoples PETS....why were they in that truck is right !

The shots of those gorgeous horses standing was great and the guy going up against slaughterhouses was commendable - I hear there was legislation changing slaughtering of horses and let's hope the law DOES turn around and get on their side....

we are so so cruel to animals in this world

I couldn't finish watching the video. I watched the first 1 1/2 minute and then I just couldn't watch any more. It brought back memories of a horse van wreck in Denver Colorado 20 something years ago. These were race horses and the truck driver didn't make the curve on the interstate up ramp.....The nightmarish images of the horses laying on the side of the road..... still haunt me.

Thank you for your post..... we all need to be aware of what is happening around us.
