Non-Yorkie question but still a dog question So here’s my problem besides my yorkie I have an outside field dog too. He’s part wolf and something else. At the end of July beginning of August he brought a girlfriend home. We kept intending to take her to he vet but time went on and they become very “friendly”. I still really don’t want this new dog but now I think she is pregnant. Well at least she might be? Over the last few weeks I have noticed her getting a little belly and she is gone away in the woods a lot. I have not really looked at her more than that. I didn’t want to get attached. I don’t know if she was in heat or if she’s just gaining weight because I am feeding her whereas before she was homeless. But now I guess I just need to figure out if she is pregnant or not. What are some ways w/o taking her to the vet for tests, to figure out if she is pregnant? Any help is greatly Appreciated! Thanks Amy |
I'm sure the experts here can answer your question for you. The only thing I want to point out is ---- let's say she's not pregnant.... BUT - what's going to keep her from getting pregnant (if she isn't yet).... Good luck - you have a problem! Carol Jean |
Well I am going to take her to the vet so they can find a home for her but I just didn't want to do anything to hurt her if she is pregnant. My plan was to figure out if she is expecting and go ahead and keep her for the allotted weeks after she has them, then take all of them to the vet. Or Ya'll know better then me what should I do? I don't think the "vet" is the place to take a dog or puppies that you don't want. They don't have facilities to house homeless animals. They should be taken to an animal shelter. But first - you should try to find homes for them - it's sad. Good luck! Carol Jean |
Oh our vet runs like a small animal shelter as well, I live in a small town. The really sad part about all of this is that the dog "Dora" has tags on and I called for weeks and weeks leaving countless messages that I had their dog and they never called back or answered the phone. As soon as Dora has the puppies I plan on trying to find them and her new homes. Thanks Amy |
