Auditions! :D I found out today that I have auditions for Fiddler on the Roof on Wendesday!! I've watched the movie twice and I've been listening to the music a lot. I decided that I'm going to audition for the part of Tzietel! :D I'm really excited/nervous. I'm singing "Change In Me" from Beauty and the Beast. This is my last year in the school I'm in now, and the play is one of my favorite things. So no matter what part I get I'm definetly going to make the most of it. I can't wait! :) and that was a random message brought to you by Megan lol. :p |
Break a leg Megan!!! I love Fiddler on the Roof. The group I sing with does a wonderful rendition of Sunrise Sunset for weddings. Makes me cry every time!! |
Best of luck to you Megan. I didn't know you could sing - you go girl!! :goodluck: :daisy: :goodluck: |
Good luck Megan!:xfingers: |
Good luck Megan -- I know you'll do awesome! :p |
Good luck!!! That would be so cool! One day we will be able to say we knew Megan when...... |
Go Megan! Good luck to you. I hope you get the part or any part for that matter. What a wonderful experience for you. Good luck. Carol |

Good luck to you. It sounds like fun. |
ugh! First off, thank you guys for your well wishes. :) I appreciate it, especially because I'm starting to get really nervous!! :p Now I must vent. we have a new music teacher this year, Mr. T. Now Mr. T is pretty cool, SOMETIMES. our old music teacher was so awesome and me and my friends Emily and Jessica really loved her and we were in music club every day and stuff like that. Now I know that Mr. T can't be exactly like her, obviously, but I don't like him. Our old teacher always let us sing whatever we wanted. whenever we wanted. This new music teacher said today, "Ms. *insert name* let you sing too many show tunes last year, in my class we only sing classical music." he's not letting us sing show tunes AT ALL. You know, I want to be a singer on Broadway. I need practice for that to happen. ugh. But anyway, I've been practicing Change In Me for a while now, and I had it down really well. Today I was talking to Emily about auditions and she told me that Mr. T said we aren't allowed to sing songs for the audition. we have to sing the SCALE!! I'm a mezzo-alto, meaning I can't go very high easily. Which means my audition is going to suck because the higher part of the scale can be difficult for me to sing. Also, my throat is bothering me a little. If I were singing a song, I wouldn't care. But since I have to sing the scale and I'll be killing myself to go higher, its going to suck even more because of my throat. I'm horribly nervous now because there's no way in heck I'm going to get Tzietel with the way my audition is going to go tomorrow. :( |
Ok, Megan, here is some momma advice. Relax..... go to the audition and do your very best. To do your best you MUST have a good nights sleep and to do that you must QUIT worrying. You said that acting is something you LOVE to do..... then just go and love what you are doing. Your teacher is looking for MORE than someone who can sing a scale, believe me, he is looking for much more. Show Mr. T that you have heart, courage, and a willingness to work hard..... Those things do not come from singing a scale, they come from the HEART. GOOD LUCK SWEETHEART! |
Megan, just do the best and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you gave it your all. Also, you will show your teacher you are flexible and your natural talent will shine through. Good luck I will be thinking of you. |
Good luck! |
As someone who has heard you sing, I say with authority: You have nothing to worry about! I don't care if they make you burp the Star Spangled Banner, you're going to do great. But seriously, everyone is giving you the same advice for good reason. If you relax and have fun, you'll do better. If you win a spot in the play, great. If not, well, at least you had fun and got the experience of auditioning. It's a win-win situation no matter what happens. Umm, that said, you probably shouldn't burp the anthem unless they ask you to! Good luck, Megs! |
IT WENT WELL!!! He had two other teachers in there. so I was terrified. But I went in and he had me do the scale. My range (as of now) is low G and high C. not too bad..... then we did the reading. I read part of Tzietel's thing and he said I did really good with the reading. then he asked me some questions. and he said, "If I couldn't give you a lead, one of the daughters I mean, would you be OK with an ensamble speaking part?" so I think even if I don't get the part I really want then I'll at least have lines!!! :D |
