I need to vent!!!! Today I had to Park outside the garage. The hubby was working in it. we ave a black walnut tree that drops huge walnuts and i didn't want them to hit my car. So I parked in our extra parking pad thats next to the street. I was home no more than 20 minutes when Jim (my hubby) ran in the house and yelled A trailer just hit your car!!!!!.:eek: I ran outside to see a travel trailer parked on my car. I was Crying so hard.:cry: The guy pulling the trailer didn't have to correct safety chain on the trailer and it came off his truck and spead 200 feet down hill into my car pushing it back 6 feet on to our rail road tie wall. Ohhhhh i can't even begin to tell you how upset I am. I should have taken my chances with the walnuts.:mad: Now I have to wait till monday to get a rental and my por car will be towed away on a flat bed. I would feel sorry for te guy but he had the wrong safety chain on his trailer. The cop said it looked like a dog chain. Sorry I just had to get this off my chest. thanks for listening. |
That stinks!! But at least no one was hurt. It is a pain being without your car, CAn they fix it? |
Oh my gosh! Luckily nobody was in there. Does the guy have insurance that will cover everything? Will they be able to fix it or are you going to have to get a new car? |
No one was hurt and it will be fixed. it's to new to be totaled a 05 focus zx4 st. Ill take a picture and post after the rain stops. |

That so sucks! At least everyone is okay. Try and make this something positve. I know that may sound sappy, but there is nothing that can be done now right. At least it wasn't YOUR fault, and he's paying for it right??? Sorry you have to go through this...I'm just glad that trailer didn't fly into someone's car on the highway... |
:eek: omg... at least you were not hurt. cars can be replaced or repaired. it's just a huge inconvience. |

At least your car stoped the tailer If it kept going it would have hit the neighbors house. Well Yeah but it hit my car !:angry: |
Ohhhh that is not good at all. HOpe that person had insurance cause I was in a wreck a couple of months ago and the guy didn't have insurance. Did over $4000 worth of damage to my car. I am glad no one was hurt. |

Wow! Isn't it crazy...the one time you park your car there instead of in the garage! I'm so sorry this happened! Your pretty little car sure has a lot of damage! Thank goodness you weren't in it and hey...maybe your car saved someone's life by stopping it! Hope you have it fixed and back to you soon!!! |
Thank you all for your post .Yt Is Great. I I'm really scared to get the estaments. they wont tow it till Monday. It is in the same spot as in the pictures. So every time I go out there I see it and want to cry. I'm glad no one got hurt. That would have just added to the burden. thanks for all your support. |
aw man that's awful!some people are just so irresponsible i mean he didn't want to spend a few dollars for the correct chain to haul a trailer and now he will be shelling out thousands pure neglect on his part what a dummy but at least you weren't in the car of around it when the trailer smashed it. hopefully it will get fixed soon for you...make sure you get a really expensive sports car rental to sport around in for him to pay for! good luck. |

I'm glad no one was hurt, by the looks of the picture it looks like he just clipped you, wonder if they will just fix your car? Sorry this happened to you. |
I'm not sure what the fix will be. Where the trailer hit was on the axle, aircondictioner, tire, and hood. It may have bent the frame. I know it looks like he cliped me but they had to lift my car and then pull the trailer out and did more damage when they did that. The bad thing is he lives right up the street. |
I'm sorry this happened to you, but my husband has been in the auto body repair business for 37 years and all that can be fixed. Even if it bent the frame, it couldn't be more than an inch or two and that is what frame racks are for. It can be fixed and be just like new. Thank God no one was hurt! |
Really Have you ever had a car feel just like new after a accident. i know it will never be the same. :(:( |

He works in a body shop now and has always done it on the side in our garage. We could never afford a brand new car. Husband would buy one anyway, they lose so much value after you drive them off the lot. I've always bought newer cars that had been totaled. The drive and handle just like a brand new car. We have a 2004 Van that was totaled and it's the vehicle of my dreams. The ride is so nice and handles great. I never have to borrow my husbands truck anymore to haul anything. Plus, total cost in the van, parts and for my husband to fix it....$1500. Not Bad!!!! |
Thats great I sure with ya'll lived closer so I could get hm to fix it :) I'll just have to pray the body shop will do a good job. And I wont take it back till they do . :) |
what about... the resale value? Now your Kelly Blue Book value is going to drop and that is always going to be on your vehicle's record. Making a trade-in very not-worth-it. That is so sad. After having my dream car (04 Mazda3) for 2 months, I got rear-ended and the woman drove away! I got her LP tho and when the cops came out, she said that she didn't hit me (no really?), but then said that someone hit her b/c she had front end dammage on her car.... isn't that funny how her front end dammage matched my rear end dammage?!?! regardless i got a check for $600 from her insurance company for a pinky-nail size ding in my bumper (gotta love it). But my car feels tainted now b/c it was in an accident. So sorry, but again, be grateful nobody was hurt |
