Love at first sight: What do you think?
 
Just wondering what everyone out there thinks about that!! I never did until I met someone really special. I'm betting that most people don't believe in it unless it's happened to them. Share, Share!!!:p

Of course with Thor it was love at first sight...but I'm not talking puppies here!;)

It has never happened to me but I have 2 stories to share:

My Dad met my Mom on a blind date when they were 15 & 17 and he told my uncle later that night he would spend the rest of his life with her. Unfortunately she passed away in 1990 but they spent 28 years of happiness together and I am sure he wouldn't change a thing.

Second story my brother met my SIL one night at a party and they fell in love were married after 4 months and just celebrated their 20th anniversary:D Like father like son I suppose.

So I guess you could say I believe in it;)

I believe in it because it has happened to me recently. BUTTTT, and a big but, it's dangerous to play around with. Because every relationship feels like that in the beginning. It's after about 1 year that you realize whether it's real love at first site or not :p When I met my current b/f I turned to my sister that night and told her "I'm going to marry that guy" and he said the same to his aunt (she's always telling me about it). We always talk about how we both fell in love with each other that night. We expressed our love for eachother within 2 weeks of dating :p

Awww! I love these stories!! :p It also makes me believe that there is a special someone for everyone.
Vainchik, you are right, you have to be careful, but I also believe that you really just "know" in your heart and soul if it's love at first sight.

My husband and I (32 years together) met on St Patricks night in 1974 and have not been apart since then, (except for work). Yeah, I say it does happen cause it happened to us. And I have to say it just keeps getting better as days grow into years.

After my bf and I went out on our first date....we have never been apart ever since....besides when we are working....we never go out at night seperatly, always together.....a year and a half later things are still the same and so are the feelings....besides being my bf ...hes is my best friend...I would be lost without him....

We met and 3 days later I moved in, 10 months later we were married...we're going on 25 years this December. We go everywhere together (except when he was working, he's retired now) and we do everything together...we are best friends and we would be lost without each other.

I believe in love at first sight. I was in a bad marriage and swore I'd never marry again once I got divorced. But, then I eventually met my second husband and it was love at first sight for both of us. I had two very young kids, and he had never been married, but he wanted to get married. I loved him but was afraid of marriage and was afraid it would be hard for him to become an "instant father", so I kept putting him off. I got sick and had to go into the hospital because of a chronic illness that I have, and I ended up having surgery and started feeling even more afraid of marriage because I felt he had alot to deal with already, and I'd be adding an illness to the equation. He kept telling me it didn't matter, that he wanted to be with me no matter what. He ended up proposing to me while I was in the hospital, and we were married three months later and have been very happy for 20 years.:)

Ok, I'm the dissenter here!!:D :) I believe in "lust" at first sight, but not really a true love. I think you can make a special connection with someone immediately, but I think real love only truly comes after you know a person and you know all the good and all the bad and wouldn't trade them anyway. I think it takes time for that kind of relationship to develop. Ok, having said that, I met my husband when I was 16, married him at 20 and have now been married 22 years. I also didn't even like him the first time I met him...kinda thought he was a jerk...I quickly got over that though.:p

I love hearing stories like yours....I was living with him after a few days too....everyone thought we were crazy.....I have never been happier.....when I hear of people who have been married for so many years and live there lives together as one, I realize that maybe if more people lived like that and were happy together there wouldn't be as many divorces....
