Need to vent... without hearing I told you so. :p My friend went on vacation to Hawaii on the 31st through 9/11. She delivers newspapers in the morning and at the last minute her sub backed out, so I agreed to do it. She offered me $400 and I was under the impression she would pay me upon her return. Today she sends me a thank you thank you email and then goes on about how they get paid once a month and she hoped to pay me before her 10/6 profit check but she has some prearranged payments and it looks like she can pay me on the 25th. I think she means the 25th of October!!! I've emailed back for clarification and am still waiting to hear back. I'm just stunned. What do I say or do? She obviously won't have the money to pay me sooner. I spent over $300 in gas alone..... little did I know I'd get such cruddy gas mileage. Plus my daughter and her friend helped, so I have to compensate them. I'm just tapped right now..... grrrrr :mad: |
Not right....You did her a favor its not like she was doing you a favor. She should pay you now or at least give you half the money. I would definately tell her that you cannot wait until next month for the money. |
If your friend can afford a trip to Hawaii - then she can afford to pay you NOW. You didn't agree to any prearranged plan - and whatever HER pay schedule is - it's her problem - I would go to her house and talk this out face to face - that is so not fair to make you cover your gas when you were saving HER butt....especially since she was the one on the exotic trip - if someone had been in the hospital or she was ill - that would be different I can't believe people...I really can't. |

Definetly tell her how you feel and that you just cannot wait that long for the money!! You helped her out as a friend, now its time she live up to her obligation. Just keep your cool so you dont lose out on your money all together if it turns into a big fight..you know what I mean? Dawn |

Thanks guys. She meant the 25th of September. Shew.. I'm not so bent now. I would have liked the money sooner, but I can live with the 25th of THIS month. ;) |
