9/11 Please don't forget I wanted to post this its a email I had received years ago after the attacks. Before you click on this link, please know that it is disturbing, but this is how we saw it on the news that day live before our eyes. I am sorry if anyone feels this is inappropriate. On this day please take a moment to remember all the ones who were lost and their families. http://attacked911.tripod.com/ |
That took a while to load, but it was worth it. My heart is always heavy today. As my son gets older I wonder how I'm going to tell him about this. I know he's going to ask why, but I don't know myself how humans can be capable of doing this to each other. Thank you for sharing this. |
I'm so glad the country it paying tribute to all the people lost in 9/11. I watched the show last night and it just scared me how our people in power hide so much from us. No one at the top wanteded to step up and take action and it took the World Trade Center tragedy for them to WAKE UP....and 5 years to find Bin Ladin ???...what's up with that ! |
i watched it also last night , in fear just like 5 years ago.. my mom just called me around 10 minutesago hysterically crying, she was listening to the calling of the names of all the people who died that day...this is very emotional.. i lost my cousin that day who had 3 little girls.. may their souls rest in peace |
Oh Gina...I'm sorry. I've been watching the tributes all morning :) and I'm so sorry you lost family on that horrific day |
Thank you so much for starting this thread! This horrific tragedy brought our country together and I had hoped it would be united forever. Sadly, I feel that it did not ... all too soon, people were just back to normal. I, for one, had my life changed forever ... I can tell you exactly where I was, what I was doing and what I felt on 9/11/2001 and there has not a day gone by since that it has not been brought to my mind! My heart still breaks for every American who died that day and for every loved one that survives them today!! |
Gina, I very sorry to hear about your cousin...those poor girls....my prayers go out to you and your family. |
I watched the entire video with a heavy heart as tears ran down my face. It is like it was just yesterday that these horrible people changed our lives forever. As with most of you, my husband and I both have co-workers that lost their children that worked in one of the towers, friends, spouses. What happened 5 yrs ago today has changed our lives forever. I pray for everyone that lost somebody close to them, for all the heros that helped save lives and for the ones that didn't make it out. What a horrible thing these people have done. I try not to but, I have a very difficult time trusting now. I cannot believe that ANY God would want what they have done. "WE WILL NEVER FORGET" |
The saddest part of this is that "it" will never end. There is always going to be this divide and war essentially because of religious beliefs. That is what it comes down to. What humankind will do in the name of their God is frightening and sad. After Oklahoma City I didn't think I could cry this much again. I was wrong. God bless the families that lost their loved ones. My heart and prayers will always be with them. |
I watched in tears just as I did 5 years ago. I pray that this country never forgets what happened on 9/11/01. God bless America!:smileyfla :flag42: |
wow .. that's all i have to say - god bless america - |
I watched the special again last night that was done with the fire station - since hubby is a firefighter. We watched it together when it first aired months ago - he was at work last night and watched it with the guys at the station and I watched at home. I had watched the 60 minutes special before where they had some firefighters on their and they said their new slogan was "Hero to Zero". As Bettyanne said, life has moved on, normalcy has returned, and things that were done following that black day are no longer done. Gina, I'm so sorry for the loss you suffered because of the events of 9/11. Prayers and hugs going out to you and your family - and to others here at YT who's lives have been forever changed because of that day. May God bless us all today as we remember those who lost their lives 5 years ago. |
Wow....... What a tribute......I was in an airplane on 9/11 waiting to fly to Boston....the plane was grounded due to the WTC. I will NEVER forget the faces of all the people in the airport, or the 300+ people trying to get a cab, or the rental car agencies charging astronomical prices for rentals......or the faces...or the faces.......or the faces....... When my day gets rough....having a bad day, kids misbehaving....headache....job stress........I try to put it all in perspective...... I am never having as bad a day as the familiies and loved ones of the people killed in this ......the worst day in the history of our country... |
9/11: We Will Never Forget.... Oh my goodness, Gina...I am so sorry for your loss.. God Bless all those who perished. :wilted_ro :fallen: :wilted_ro I have been crying all morning watching the t.v. WE WILL NEVER FORGET..... :usaheart: :smileyfla :usastar: |
