We are so close to ending horse slaughter, but we still need some help. In order to become law, the American Horse Protection Act (S.1915) must next be approved by the Senate. We are so close to ending horse slaughter in the US, don't let it slip away.

I don't know how you all feel about horse slaughter, but it is the most inhumane, cruel, and sickening thing to do to a horse. I will spare you all the pictures and videos of it, but I will tell you if you were to see them you would be so horrified and sick and you will want to scream and cry and be utterly shocked that this happens to so many horses. If you want to see pictures just type in the search horse slaughter pictures and you will be shocked what you see. Some can't even stand to look at the pictures or videos, they are that bad. I know there are people here that own horses and I am sure none of you would want your loved horse to ever go through something like this.

Please, Please help us end this!!!!

Last week I saw on TV something about it. They were reporting from a small town near Dallas, Tx where they slaughter the horses to ship the meat to Europe, because people pay a lot of money for that meat there. They showed footage and they wared audience that the video was too graphic. I don't know how I had the guts to actually see the horrifing images and the way they kill the poor animals. I'm with you and you have my support. I'm clicking on the link.

I'm with you in the support. Horses are one of my favorite animals. and I've been around them since I was 7. They're such lovely creatures, the idea that "human beings" can be so cruel to them rips my heart to pieces. :(

I've heard how cruel and disgusting this is :mad: :mad: and good for you posting this - I agree - the more voices the better - it still needs to be passed but it's close from what I heard

Thanks guys for the support!! It is horrible and the more people that hear about it, the more people we can get to help end this horrible act of cruelty.

The American Horse Protection Act (H.R. 503). On September 7th, the House overwhelmingly supported the bill, passing it with a vote of 263 to 146.

This bill is intended to give protection to America's horses by banning the transport, sale and slaughter of horses for human consumption. As you may be aware, over 90,000 horses were slaughtered in the US last year and thousands more were shipped to Mexico and Canada for slaughter in those countries. The horse slaughter industry in the US exists only to fill the demand from international markets, as horsemeat is not typically eaten in the US.
