Ebay/Paypal please please help! A couple months ago i bought a few items from the same seller, i payed with paypal and after 2 and a half weeks i i still didnt recieve the parcel. I emailed him and he simply said i will post it 2mo. A couple days later it arrived and the things i bought were great. Anyway i left him neutral feedback and just stated that postage was very slow, but items were excellent! He then had the cheek to leave me NEGATIVE feedback for each individual item saying i need to learn manners! :( I have contacted ebay about them removing this feedback as it doesnt reflect me as a buyer, i paid on time, no fault my end Sorry this is so long ;) My question is my paypal was set up through ebay and i want to close my ebay account, do i need to close that paypal account or remove the credit cards then open a new one and add them to my new paypal account/ Thanks :) |
I wouldnt close your Ebay account over that. That happens to people all the time on there. If you give a seller any kind of feedback that could be considered negative they retaliate and give you negative feedback. i would just contact ebay about it |
Your paypal account is seperate than your ebay account. You won't need to close paypal if you get a new ebay account. That feedback thing is kinda messed up isn't it? I have wanted to leave a neutral or negative before, but I know if I do, they will do the same for me, isn't quite fair is it? Also, I think seller's should leave feedback when you finish your end of the transaction, not wait for you to leave feedback for them first. I mostly sell on Ebay, occassionally I will buy...but in my seller's mode, I always leave feedback for my customer's when they have finished their part (paying :D ). I think that is the fair way to do it. I have seen where ebay will withdraw feedback if both parties agree...however it remains there for all to see...it just says feedback was mutually withdrawn:thumbdown That's a shame though you can't leave a neutral with the truth without fear of reprisal:confused: |
did you check to see if there was somewhere in the feedback that you can respond to his negative feedback?....i have see things like that where a negative feedback was left and there was an extra feedback spot where the person who recieved it explained it...I'm not sure how it works closing and opening a new account |
thankyou everyone, im not very god at ebay! lol so my paypal is different i never knew that lol:rolleyes: i wanted to close the account as my feedback score is like 95% thanks to him,and im worried people will think bad of me as a buyer/seller. I still havent heard back from ebay about removing his comments, also i did reply under his feedback, stating that he was only sayig this as i left him neutral. I just wanted to start over again! ;) |
i wouldnt worry about it no one will think badly of you things happen on there. one time I put a $10,000 bid on a $10 item and someone ( i believe the seller) bumped it up. Of course I would not pay that so the seller wanted to negotiate and have me pay what he wanted for it which was still too high and i refused. He told me he was going to turn me into ebay for nonpayment but he never did |
Since you paid on paypal it tells when you paid so people will see that it was the Seller not you...I wouldn't worry about it, also there is a way you can reply to his neg. feedback.......It looks better to have some feedback than to not have any at all....:) |
eBay........what a fun site! Everyone has their own opinions, so here is mine.....I no longer leave feedback once an item sells.....I state in my auction rules and on my invoice, something in the lines of "please leave feedback so I know that the pkg was received" and "I will leave feedback for you too" and "if any questions or concerns about your item, please contact me prior to leaving feedback". Does that sound harsh, just crazy or what? Knock on wood, I have never (thankfully) had a problem with any of my auctions (my selling auctions)......I just got tired of going through the process of leaving feedback for everyone and then not getting feedback in return.....hey, I want my feedback score to get greater too!!! About 4 years ago, I bought some books for my daughter that took 2 months to receive. I had emailed and emailed the seller, no response.....talked with eBay on what to do......waited (like they recommended) and talked to them again and filed a dispute and nothing.......finally left negative feedback and then, like 3 days later, I got the package. Then, I finally heard from the seller and they said that they had emailed numerous times (I never got and I had of course saved them all - I always do when I buy/sell online - hey, that comes in handy later), but she didn't leave negative for me, she left neutral because of all the records I had and the dispute being filed so long ago. Why it took it so long, I do not know........and it wasn't even shipped Media Mail....I think they had just forgotten or something - they said they were at a funeral........for 2 months??? Hummmmm............ Anyway, I think 95% isn't bad......I have seen some lower, but if you are pretty new to eBay, I would just start over too! Definitely keep your PayPal account up and running.......you will need it for your next new eBay account, plus, if you need it for buying other stuff online. Good luck.......eBay.......what a site! |

and Yorkie7 - what a crappy thing for the seller to do - if it were me I'd add a comment about slow shipping to his feedback |
I forgot........sometimes, eBay will take off a feedback....I don't know how or what the circumstances have to be, but I remember that was brought up somewhere before.............BUT.........I think it would probably be more of a hassle then it is worth.......and starting a new account would be easier....... Just remember, buyers/sellers can see your past accounts too! It shows how many times you changed user names and I think (not certain), but I think everyone can still see your feedback for each account....when you change your account (user name), your new one will have a symbol next to it (which I can't remember what it looks like), but it is there to let everyone in eBay land know that your user name (account) was changed. I am not sure why they do this, but they do...........I guess for all those bad eBay sellers out there who rip people off or something............ Oh.........definitely keep your PayPal account........that way, you can donate to YT!!! ;) |

You can go to sitemap on eBay, look for feedback forum, click on, you can do a dispute through there. You can also find the link at that site to return feedback to your seller. I would try to get eBay to remove this feedback which can be done with time and patience. I know people who have done this. I also will just not leave feedback out of fearif not pleased. It really doesn't matter because alot of sellers have less then 100% feedback. However, with a buyer having less then 100% feedback, necessary to get in touch with seller that you wish to make a purchase. Jessica |
