I am really dumb struck, terrified...........speechless......my heart just felt like it cracked |
Wow...I feel like vomiting and crying at the same time. I could never in a million years hold that job. I just could not do it. This is so sad. How do we make a difference? |
I could have lived a lifetime without reading that. How terrible sad. I have to go and snuggle my pets. |
Well, thats got to be the saddest thing I have ever read!! I was eating ()i should have known better) lets just say i had to stop!:( Gas Chambers ARE SO inhumane!!   :thumbdown |
My life will never be the same again... how terribly sad... |
I read this for the first time a while ago. It really hit me HARD. As did reading it the second time. I don't now...and never have...blamed the people who have to kill the animals. It's not their fault. They need a job just like the rest of us. I am SO mad though, that there are people allowing this to happen. God bless that man, because I couldn't imagine what he has to go through. It sounds to me like he cares about animals more than a lot of people do - to try to make their last few hours meaningful. Everyone wants "that cute little puppy" shame on them for thinking that they can throw it out after it grows out of the "cute little puppy" stage. My first dog (the first dog that actually BELONGED to me), Rusty, was from a pound. "The stray mutt" I guess you could say he was. HE is the reason I'd give up just about anything to save the animals. He's such a sweet animal. People don't realize that just because an animal is in the pound doesn't mean they're bad. The people who don't need to read this will. and sadly, the people who do need to read this either won't or will just shrug it off. Sorry to go off on a rant like that...but I just wish people would wake up and realize that this kind of thing can be STOPPED if enough people want it to be. |
:( :( :( |
:( i'm speechless....:( |
I've read this before ... it's very sad. :( |
thanks for sharing. |
That was both the worst and the best thing I've ever read. Anyone who owns or is considering adopting/breeding an animal should have to read that:cry: I don't know if I can stop crying now, but I'm gonna go and cuddle my girls for a while and pray for all of the poor defenseless animals out there that are being sentenced to death, every damned day, through no fault of their own:cry: :( |
OMG. I don't even know what to say. Surprised I can even type as much as I've been crying - I still have tears in my eyes. And I am serious when I say that I swear I think I would have to choose being homeless over taking a job like that. I COULD NOT DO IT. I couldn't. I know myself, and I just COULDN'T... That is just the saddest thing that I have ever read :cry8: |
that's soooooo sad!!!!! |
I'm crying like a baby, that is heartbreaking. |
couldnt read this a second time...it makes me want to vomit... |
omg..i couldnt finish it... gosh...... this is sooooooooo horrible,,, I wish everyone in this whole world was forced to read this .. To remind everyone of how cruel it is to make a living off of these animals... may all of their souls rest in peace. |
This is extremely sad but a reality . Why do they always have to pay for human's stupidity ? |
Maybe this should be posted in the breeders forum and hopefully when people come here to look for advice about breeding their dog they will see this and think twice before doing it. I doubt you will be able to reach all of them because some could care less what anyone has to say but it may be a life changing thing for those who do read it. I read this one before and I cant reread it :( |
they gas here in my county. Its so sad. I use to take the dogs all a treat the day before. I would always end up taking 10-20 pups home!! I would buy there shots & worm them. I have a petfinder site. I couldnt afford to spay/neuter but I had adopters sign a contract. I had to stop. I was afraid of my dogs getting parvo or something & it took a lot of time & was expensive but I was able to find some rescues in other areas to take some & as far as I know they still mainly make it out. At least the pups & smaller dogs but many get gassed. It is true, of coarse our dog warden thinks its great. He told me he hated it but I talked to the warden a county over & she said he told her they otta gas, its so great. I dont know if he is just trying to act tough or what but it is aweful & could be prevented. |
oh wow thats touching in ways other than usual, our county is mandating a spay and neauter law starting the begiining of 07 |

They need to blaster that everywhere !   |
I'm physically sick to my stomach! I think that is the sadest article I have ever read. Like I said many ,many, times in different threads, it's our government's fault that this happens, in more ways than one. Pet stores and back yard breeder's can be stopped if the government would take a stand. Pathetic is the only word I can think of to say. And your right, this does not have to happen! At all! |
I couldn't read it all. It made me cry too much. |
I have read this before too and cried. I did not want to say anything but I work at a shelter and do animal control and euthanize. We do not use the gas chamber but there are still some shelters in Va that do. We do not get as many animals as most shelters and we pull dogs from other shelters when they have to euthanize some. The dogs are very fortunate to come to our shelter they are not put down and treated with love. All of us that work there have adopted more then one animal form there. We are pretty much no kill as far as dogs are concerned. Cats are not as lucky because farmers have barn cats and will not get them fixed. They just bring the surplus in when they get too many. Of course they are feral and sick and usually inbreed. They are the unlucky ones. Spotsylvania shelter in Fredericksburg Va gets in yorkie mixes and a lot of other small dogs and they euthanize everyday. If anyone is close to that shelter and wants to rescue a dog that is a good place. Take a look at my shelter's Petfinder site: http://west.petfinder.com/shelters/VA186.html |
I just read this and am in tears. I hate what is done to animals in this country due to nothing other than human irresponsibility and cruelty. I feel bad for the poor animals that face this terrible fate because no one can find it in their hearts to save them, and there are too many to be saved in some cases. What a terrible, sad, and lonely job for those that have to do this to these animals. Bumping this up for others.. it is definitely important to read... |
Oh, that is so sad. How heart-braking. . .if only every puppy mill would receive that and be struck by it. Oh how I wish. It is just so sad. |
OMG, that gave me chills as i read. that is VERY sad. them poor babies.     |
I don't think the pet overpopulation can be blamed on the government of all things. If people wouldn't buy from petstores and bybs then they would stop breeding since they were not able to get rid of the pups. Almost any type of dog can be found in a shelter or rescue. People need to spay and neuter ALL their animals before they reach the first heat cycle. I have volunteered at a shelter since I was 18 and the things i have seen are horrific. I can't imagine how the people that actually have to euthanize the animals deal with, i know I couldn't but sadly until overpopulation is under control its a job that will have to be done. Since i was young we have owned a purebred Bichon, purebred lab, pit bull mix, purebred golden, chi/yorkie mix, and yorkie/poodle mix. ALL were either adopted from a rescue, shelter, or came to us as strays and many of them we got when they were still young puppies. so the myth that the only dogs that are in shelters are old, mixed breed, or has problems is completely wrong. |
This was very difficult to read - I can't stop crying    |
