Cruises? help plz Ok my mom is Puerto Rican & my dad is Colombian and we don't have any family in the states with us. So everytime we travel it's either to Puerto Rico or Colombia to go visit our family. But since I graduate high school this year and I rank #1 in the school (YAY!) my parents decided to take me on a cruise this coming summer after graduation :D :D :D FINALLY something different! I'm soooo excited. But since I have never been on any trip besides Colombia or PR, I don't know how to choose anything for the cruise! :( Which cruise lines do you recommend?? and which ones do you NOT recommend? I heard that Carnival cruise line isn't that good? Oh & which destination do you recommend?? there's so many to choose from!! Thank You :D |
Oh and another question lol, can you take a dog with you on a cruise? |
Oh, I have been on several cruises. One of the best cruise lines in my opinion is Royal Caribbean. I have been all around the Caribbean. Any 5-7 night cruise anywhere in the Caribbean will be SOOOOOOOooo fun!:D P.S. -- I have never been on a cruise where you could have pets. |

I also went on Royal Carribean all over the Caribbean!! I loved the service and the people were so friendly and it was alot of fun especially visiting the islands for shopping!! I don't think that there is a cruise line that allows you to bring your pets except if it's a cruise for the dogs!! May I recommend going to St. Lucia and St. John I went around christmas a few years ago and absolutely loved it!!! |

only service dogs are allowed on ships. carnival is the most fun with tons of stuff to do and a younger crowd. royal has nicer ships . but a little older crowd. it depends on what your looking for. |
I've been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian. I loved RC and Norwegian ships, both were beautiful! I do agree with Romeo's mommy that Carnival tends to have the younger crowd. But no matter which one you choose, you'll have a blast! I loved all the spots in the caribbean. Have a great time!!! |
Alaska is so beautiful. My Dad took my oldest daughter there for her graduation present. They drove a camper. Spent about a month traveling and decided to stay an extra week because it was so nice. They brought back a tons of pictures and tapes. I would love to go there. But it is a little chillier than the Carribean.:p Wherever you go, you will have a great time. |

Just found one cruise ship that will accept pets ... but look at all the rules .... Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth 2 *Restrictions Apply There is one cruise line that will allow pets. However, we found a number of charter outfits and small sightseeing companies that welcome well-behaved, sea loving pets. There are many reasons cruise lines cannot accept pets. Most of the countries the cruise ships visit have quarantine or entry requirements for pets. Cruise ships have health codes to follow and they have poor accommodations for pets. The cruise line accepting pets is Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth 2; however, they accept them on a limited basis. Before you decide to cruise with your pet, you want to read the fine print. 1) The kennel is located mid-ship on the Sun Deck. 2) There are 12 kennels (two levels of six). Kennels can be used for cats, dogs and other small animals. It is not normal procedure to put more than one animal in a kennel, but it would be the responsibility of the owner if they insisted. 3) Food is provided and the kennel attendant can prepare any special requirements. 4) The shielded open deck area, fitted with a lamppost and fire hydrant, is available to exercise pets. Animals are not permitted on any other open deck, public area or stateroom. 5) Prior to sailing, necessary documentation must be presented to the ship before pets can travel. 6) Passengers may provide their own bed or bedding for their pets. 7) Pets are kept in the kennel during the crossing and regularly exercised. 8) Visiting hours: The kennel’s visiting hours is as follows, however with prior arrangements it is possible for the attendant to be in the kennels outside of these hours to open the cage: 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is the official word from the cruise line: “The Queen Elizabeth 2 will continue to accept pets in the kennel aboard for any transatlantic crossing it may have with the exception of the first or last leg of the world cruise.” |

I'm so jealous about Grand Cayman! We were supposed to stop there on one of our last trips but the weather was horrible so we went to Costa Maya instead. I'm still hoping we'll make it to Grand Cayman eventually. |
I went on carnival, it was fun, but definitly for families. I've heard great things of Royal Carribean, so next time I wanna try them out. We ported at Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands. Jamiaca was OK, but we were in the town and a lot of people tried to scam us. Luckily, we didn't fall for any of it, but you have to be very careful! Cayman Islands was beautiful, and all I can say for that is that I want to retire there :) |
